Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly were both known for wearing black and pearls so it should be a very elegant wedding.

I like it! very Breakfast at Tiffany’s. πŸ™‚

you can add the “pop” of color in your decor, dont’ stress over trying to incorporate it into your wedding party attire if it doesn’t happen naturally.

We’re doing black too! With a pop of green. I love the pearl idea! So classy!

@speechgal44:

I think black just looks very formal. I got a couple faces when I told everyone we were using black.. I don’t get what’s wrong with that. Lol

I mentioned to my mom that my girlfriend used black dresses for her wedding, so the girls could use a LBD they already had, or buy a new one. She flipped, and said you are NOT having black dresses at your wedding πŸ™ so that was that.. they got apple red.

I think they will look beautiful. I think it looks so brilliant in stark contrast to the white/off white wedding dress.

My theme was self written, I was married on St Patrick’s Day.  A theme is really not a New England thing….I mean isn’t your wedding a theme in and of itself.  Just have fun – trust me, nobody is going to remember your theme, they are going to remember how you looked, your food and being with friends……

@speechgal44:  If you want to add pops of color I would use the other colors pearls come in, light peach and pale pink.

My Maid/Matron of Honor wanted to do black dresses, but my wedding was in a rural location with beautiful mountain views, and I just thought black was too stark and urban for the setting.  We wound up with non-matching dresses in a nice color palette that set the tone I wanted without being too overbearing and matching with the dresses.
