Haha, glad to see I’m not alone! The other week a salesperson came to my door and asked me if my parents were home. I’m nearly 23 and live on my own! I get a kick out of it and it never bothers me Smile

Yup, almost 26 – look much, much younger.

Most recently I got ID’d at a sex toy shop.. you only needed to be 18!

I am 25 years old and people think i’m 13-15. (I’m also very short and petite, so that definitely doesn’t help with my baby face!) My patients sometimes wonder if I’m old enough to work! haha.

i’m 30. I have a 22 month old daughter. People think I am a single teen/early 20’s  mom. mmmm no. i’m 30, not a single mom. stop judging me please.

@allinoelle:  I don’t, but my Fiance totally does. We’ve gone to bars where he’s gotten carded (mid-30s) and I haven’t (mid-20s). I think it’s hilarious. Nobody would ever guess his correct age upon first meeting him.

I get this on a regular basis. I’m 25 and people place my age around 15-17.

I guess when you think about it, it’s better than looking 10 years older 🙂

Me! I’m 23 and get ID’d everywhere (drinking age 18).

I went into the Pharmacy once for some Bonjela (for mouth ulcer) and the chemist woman was like, “you have to be 16 to purchase that you know”. I just gave her a WTF look and said, “I’ll take that as a compliment”…

I agree if you have the proof you are fine but it definitely gets annoying.  The worst is when I go to the neighborhood grocery store and I get carded every single time.  I’ve been living in this neighborhood for 4 years.   Also, this summer I went to a music festival that had the ID checker put one of those wristbands tight around my wrist and the bartender didn’t even believe that!  He asked my husband if my wristband was real or I had tampered with one.  I am 33.

lol child bride i hope not. when i was young (13) people thought i was 16 but then i got older and im 27. some people ask if im even old enough to drink. one lady at the hospital i worked at thought i just got out of high school.

i had an angry neighbor come by. she had the wrong apartment and asked if my mom was home….. im like i lived here with my boyfriend for two years but im flattered.

i do get people who guess the right age but ive got a round innocent face lol. im always smiley and giggily. Plus im 5’2 and still have my baby fat . i just hope people keep guessing young.

I’m 30 and I tend to get ID’d often.  I actually went to buy some wine the weekend after Thanksgiving and the lady ID’d me.  After I told her I was 30 and gave her my ID she told me to keep doing whatever I’m doing because she would have even ID’d me for cigarettes.

Oh jeez. The last time I remember this topic coming up, there was a survey… and approximately 80% of the respondents said they looked young for their age. I bet. /sarcasm

If you’re 25, and you get carded most of the time that you go out, it doesn’t mean that you “must look 19”. It means that the bouncer is not comfortable enough guessing people’s ages within a 5 year range to risk losing their job and paying an enormous fine.

When I used to sell cigarettes at a drug store, I just carded everyone who hadn’t gone completely white/gray yet. If you don’t look old enough to have grandkids, then I am not going to take a chance that you’re under 18. (Very serious consequences!) I carded people who I was sure had to be at least 40, just so that nobody could ever accuse me of singling someone out for ID. It doesn’t mean that they all “looked 17”.

The fact that everyone here seems to think they look so much younger than their age might be a good indication that a lot of us have trouble knowing what a 25 year old should even look like. Why are we all so obsessed with insisting we look like high schoolers? It’s like some badge of honor!

I’m Asian, 4’11” and 95 pounds……………….. so I get that a lot. The only time I’m bothered by it is when people come off rudely. Once I was leaving work (in a very corporate business-y type building) and I was in the elevator with a woman who looked at me and said, “You look like you’re about 10.” What the heck!! Clearly, if I’m working in this building, I’m not. It definitely wasn’t flattering either, who wants to hear that they look like a 5th grader??

Another time, I got carded going into a Taco Tuesday type event. Which was fine, they card mostly everyone. But after being there for maybe 15-20 minutes, I got carded AGAIN. Like I was already inside! And the manager walked around our table all suspiciously like we must’ve snuck in or something?? Which is funny because it’s on a lake, so the only way we could’ve done that is by swimming up.

When I was in my early twenties it really irked me the way people would ignore me or not take me seriously. I got IDed to see rated R movies until about 27. Now that I’m 29 I’m starting to get wrinkles around my eyes and I think I look much more my age at this point. Now I kind of miss being carded!

@allinoelle:  im 24 (will be 25 in 4 days) and constantly get told I look 13-14. I love it.  Lol I think its awesome! But whats weird is im 5’5 and im not petite.  I’m not fat I’m not even curvy. But I do have a very large chest. Yet people still say I look 13-14. Hmm.

I have though cut my hair several different ways and that along with your make up and how you dress can definitely make you look older/younger
