I graduated college in May.  Every SINGLE time a stranger heard I was graduating, they said “That’s great!  What high school?”

No.  College.  I’m 22!!!!

I’m 25.

A few months ago I was ID’d for buying the Hobbit on blu ray…it’s a 12.

Last year on the way home from holiday with DH I was stopped at airport security for a random check.  No big deal, until the lady doing it asks me where my parents are so they can supervise the patdown.

Two weeks ago I was in Costco and decided to try one of thier food samples. The lady stops me and asks if she can speak to my parents first to make sure I don’t have any allergies.

I have many stories like these. I can only assume that I look like a pre-teen. On the other hand, my mum is well into her sixties and looks so much younger. Here we are on my wedding day;

@soon2bcali:  On the flip side, I’ve seen a ton of high schoolers who easily look like they could be in their twenties, so it’s hard to tell someties I guess.

@allinoelle:  When I was 21 I went to a pub with my folks and the waitress asked, “would you like a kids menu?” I said, “no, but I’ll have a beer.” The look on her face was priceless!

I’m a 27 yr old mom that looks 18 – 19, it’s very annoying when people treat you like a child because they think you’re young. What makes it worse is that I’m also very petite in stature and I’m short.

I’m just like you! Almost 22 as well, and when people first meet me they always ask which high school I go to. I try not to get defensive, but seriously, I am about to be graduatig from COLLEGE and I am afraid these people don’t respect me because they think I am so young!

Haha yes all the time! When wedding dress shopping at one of the boutiques the woman asked me if I was looking for a homecoming dress! I was like really? Lol I guess later it will be a good thing but I hate being treated like a child just because I look 16!!

@allinoelle:  Ha.  I’ve always been told I look young.  I was so mad about it through my teens and through college.  However, now that I’m almost 26, I’m rarely carded.  It makes me feel like an old lady!  I don’t feel like I look any older but I guess I do lol

Im almost 25, everyone thinks I look 16. Usually when I meet people they ask to see ID cause they dont believe me.

Absolutely. I’m 26, I’ve been married for almost four years, and I still have strangers who make comments on how I look far too young to be married (I work in a medical office, and patients often notice my ring and make comments).

I went to a wedding when I was 30 and when the server came around with wine he asked me my age, he thought I was 17, you have to be 19 here in Ontario to drink, I was a little offended, I don’t want to look that young! LOL Also whenever I go to the beer store more often times than not I get I.D! I am 34 and just recently at work there was a new temp that just met me and she thought I was in my late teens and asked if I still lived with my parents LMAO! I think I look young and innocent, I have red hair and I am 5’2 so I guess because I am short people think I look younger than I am!

@allinoelle:  haha I have this problem all the time. Funny story – I went with my younger brother and mom to the BMV to register and get his temporary driver’s license and while my brother was filling out the paperwork, the lady at the desk looks at me and says, “Just wait! Soon it’ll be your turn!” And I looked at her and said that I’m his older sister, and her eyes got real big and she said, “Oh!” but no apology. I didn’t even mention to her that I already had my driver’s license. Talk about awkward! haha!

I’m 23 and had to stop at the gas station Thursday. I went in to pay for my gas and pick up cigarettes for FH. When I asked for the cigarettes, the lady behind the counter didn’t even ask for ID first, she just said “You can’t be more than 16 or 17.” When I handed her my ID and told her I was almost 24, she looked surprised and seriously studied my ID.

It happens to me a lot. People assume I’m still in high school.

Yep! I have a very young face and voice, I hate it! I have had people visiting my office ask if I am enjoying my work experience! I am the Office Manager! (In the UK, kids do work experience when they are about 15/16).

I’m 24, still get ID’d for alcohol, DVDs, medecine, knives, cigrarettes… etc etc.

When i announced my engagement to a good friend her ex stared at me, slack jawed, before asking ‘Um… and HOW old are you?!’ I wouldn’t mind, but they were eighteen!
