Where do you live that it isn’t totally against the rules to have a nanny come to your house every day?!

Hopefully you feel better soon, for many people covid is not dissimilar to flu symptoms and you should start feeling better in a few days.

Hopefully you will take social distancing more seriously going forward, it’s a pity you had to literally catch the virus yourself before you could see the importance.

@zzar45:  What the hell? Your response seems like it came out of nowhere. Did this Bee brazenly state that she was flouting social distancing rules in some other thread? It doesn’t sound like having a nanny, if the nanny is truly necessary, is automatically “not taking social distancing seriously enough.”

@breatheandrelax:  have you been tested for covid? Many viruses have the same symptoms and it could be something else.

I agree with PPs that it was irresponsible of you to have the nanny come by everyday, driven by her husband. But it’s too late for that anyway .

@lifeisbeeutiful:  I mean, if it was necessary, then it wasn’t irresponsible. We need to know if it was necessary before we can pass that kind of judgment. My mother has a dying 87-year-old woman living in her house, and because my mom is 71 she can’t take care of the dying woman. It’s necessary to have in-home caregivers come to her house, and there are quite a few of them who cycle in and out during the week. Because it’s just necessary, I can’t fault her for not social distancing “properly.” We don’t know the circumstances of the nanny visits.

breatheandrelax :  don’t take it too personally. She has a chip on her shoulder for anyone who doesn’t isolate to her standards. (Such as, talking to a friend across the street.) Even if you had no nanny and picked it up out of this air you probably “did something wrong.”

I’m sorry you’re sick but thankful your baby is recovering well! It does suck and is hard when you can’t care for your baby yourself. 🙁 Hang in there!

Y’all do realize that there are millions of essential workers who continue to work out of the house out of necessity, even in a pandemic right? Many of whom have young children. Part of why social distancing is so important is so we can protect these exact people by reducing the likelihood they’ll get exposed since they don’t have the privilege of staying home.

Sending you all the healing energy right now and hoping that you make a speedy recovery.

I don’t understand some of the judgmental comments on this thread – it sounds like you were using childcare because you are still working (like many other people). It’s not like you were having friends visit just for fun.

@breatheandrelax:  hopefully your results will say it’s not covid! I don’t know what I would do. Perhaps I would refuse to work bc of fear for my baby if that would be possible. But for sure it’s hard. I’m terrified right now as im pregnant with our second and with everything going on it’s risky for me to even grab groceries. Hard situation all around for everyone. Your idea of isolating the baby from yourself for now is great. Best of luck, speedy recovery
