@PonytailKim:  that’s awesome, I have the worst problem with an oily t-zone no matter what season

I’d  guess this is anti-perspirant, not deodorant.

I don’t use it at all, because of the aluminum. (I do use organic deodorant, so you can all stop holding your noses now!)

I don’t know if your face absorbs more or the same amount of aluminum as your armpits, which have been shown to, but that’s a concern I have even more than the chems.

Though, I suppose a rare application would not significantly contribute to your body’s aluminum load.

@cbee:  Frequently my rule as well, but this is FASCINATING.

My skin is pretty much hypersensitive to everything, ever, (I break out when I eat acidic food if I don’t wash my mouth area after.) so I’d be too scared to try it but what an awesome idea.

If it doesn’t work pop onto Amazon and order Skindanavia (the one for brides) It really does work keeping shine/oil puddle monster from appearing. You spray on this stuff before and after applying makeup and dont get shiny.

I’ve also heard dusting your face with a bit of corn starch can absorb sweat and oil all day!

jayebaby: I just came across this post years later and I am so interested to find out if the deodorant ever affected your face; and do you still use it?

In good conscience, I have to urge to not put deoderant on your face. Or at least please make sure it is completely organic and does not have either lavender or anything citrus ingredients in it.

Putting chemicals on your face from mainstream deoderants can wreak absolute havoc in the long run.

Never tried deodorant but spraying the finished make-up with hair spray has always done the trick for me. That is knowledge left over from my cosplay days, so it really keeps things in place for many otherwise sweaty hours.
