Just kidding, but my second joint is so much bigger than my finger between it and my knuckles. It’s not grotesque or anything but it did cause me to size up my e-ring somewhat. Now my ring twirls around on my finger all day and it drives me slightly crazy. My right finger is larger and it doesn’t move as much. Many Europeans and South Americans wear their rings on the right hand. Will my fiance secretly be upset if I start wearing my ring on my other hand?

I can’t speak for your fiance, obviously, but I know mine would be super upset if I wore my ring on the other hand (he’s Norwegian, FWIW)…Unless this is something you really want to do for reasons other than the sizing, surely there are other options!
Can you try getting it spring-loaded if the sizing problem is that major? I know the jeweler where I got my ring can customize rings so they stretch out over the knuckle, then snap back down to normal size when they get to the narrower part of your finger–my parents considered that when my dad bought Mum an anniversary band right after I got engaged. We saw a sample and you couldn’t tell that it was super-powered just from looking at it.

Why don’t you ask your FH? I can’t see most people having a problem with it.

i just recebtly sent this to my mom because her knuckles have gotten bigger but her fingers are still small. i think this would solve your problem (it’s basically what the PP was describing, but with pictures):

You can also get a ring guard. No changes are made to your original ring. The thin metal band goes on the inside of your ring. It compresses to slide overyour knuckle then springs open to stop the ring from spinning around on your finger.
