I was innocently doing some wedding-dress-research and happened to stumble upon a dress I believe is totally perfect for me. I am totally smitten!! But this dress is from an online shop and so I am sceptical about it… what if the sizing is wrong, is it a reputable shop, etc. etc. I was wondering how many of you bought your dresses online and if so, do you recommend it? Or how many of you found your perfect dress online and then had to search for a replica elsewhere? Did you find one that made you happy??? I feel happy that I’ve found such a lovely dress but at the same time I’m annoyed because now I feel nothing I find in ‘real’ will top it!!!
This is it, by the way…

Not me, but I just wanted to tell you that this dress is beautiful! Why don’t you print out this photo, and bring it with you when you do start visiting bridal boutiques? Maybe they can help you out!

I would bring the picture to dress shops and try to capture the feel of the dress.
You won’t know if you “love it” until you try it on. I went to the store with an idea of what I wanted for my destination wedding and thought I would never want an all-lace dress and that’s exactly what I ended up buying. When I tried on the dresses I *THOUGHT* I would love, they did not work AT ALL on me.
Hope that helps! 🙂

Don’t do it! Well at least not unless you tried on something very similar in person. I went through THREE “this is the one” dresses online, all of which looked totally unflattering on me in real life, and I wound up with everything I said I didn’t want in a dress.

Do you know the style number or designer? If so, I would search for places in your area that stock the designer. You can get a sense of their sizing by trying on something by the brand.

This is a designer dress, not just available through the online stores. A bee has it. I just can’t recall who makes it.

I believe that is La Sposa (either that or Pronovias or San Patrick, one of those 3 for sure) and the style name is on the picture, it’s Fantino. Call salons that carry those lines in your area and see if they have it.

Definitely try to try on something similar. All the photos I brought to the bridal shop with me, I ended up trying on and hating. I ended up purchasing a dress I hated on the rack, but they insisted I try on!

is right. it’s definitely one of those three designers. So no need to buy it online! I’m sure you can find it in a store. Good luck! 🙂

It is so pretty! If you buy a real one online, and it comes to you, and isnt as wow as you hoped, no returns generally. I would do as PPs suggest and if no one has it locally, try on some close, and generally if those ones dont wow you, but look really good, than your safe to buy this one online. Also some stores can order locally if they carry that designer but dont have that sample.
If you buy a replica (BTW I am a huge fan of replicas) I believe in your case you wouldnt be near satisfied because it is so spactacular because of the kind of lace, and 99% of the time you wouldnt be able to find anything close even if the replica maker has this photo in their store online.

Hehe yay I’m not the only one who can look at a pic and tell the designer! It makes me feel a bit pathetic that I spend way too much time in bridal magazines and looking online when I start memorizing models/sets and such of certain designers 😛

Please don’t order it until you at least try on something similar. My daughter got married a few months ago and she had her heart set on a dress by Enzoani. It was everything she wanted- simple, shorter train, very little beading, strapless, white. I called every bridal shop in Miami looking for that dress for her to try on since she just “knew” that was the one. When she tried it on, she hated it on her. Still (even after the wedding) loves that dress, but not on her.
The dress she chose to get married in was Maggie Sottero Ambrosia in albaster (kind of like an ivory color). She looked beautiful! But it was the exact opposite of what she was looking for.
I am sure you can find a similar style to try on to see how it looks on you. I agree with a PP it looks like a Pronovias style dress. My daughter really liked those too. Here are 2 that I found. Call around to bridal shops and look at pronovias website and see who in your area sells those dresses. If they don’t carry either of these styles, ask if there is a loaner program. Some designers will ship a sample dress for you to try on- for a fee- usually about $50.
Hope this helps.

Bring the picture I agree but don’t be against other styles because yes, it’s really pretty but it might not look that great ON. Online loves are different that real life loves.
