Actually, I can’t. I have OCD and panic disorder so everything has to be put in its place in order or I will have panic attacks. So I try to stay out of his office because he’s messy, but it effing talks to me and mocks me while I’m sitting in the living room. It’s saying things like “nah nah nah! There is a coffee mug making a stain on the desk. And the TV remote is on the floor instead of on top of the TV. What are you going to do?!” AAAARGGGGHHH!!!! So I go in and clean up (because he is not great at it!) and what do I find in plain view? A post it note that says in his hurried writing:
Mortons Steakhouse 412-xxx-xxxx Thomas….hours 12-9p M-T 12-11 F-S Sunday’s 9pm
Reservations avaliable-12-31? No holidays….1-1-11….holiday (some doodles and stars) 1-8-11(circles around the date)
Then there are some scribbley lines. moissaniteco.com-expecting ring back 12-15.enhanced…….(stars stars stars) Scavenger hunt? Lame…
Goldman Sachs….call in morning….Gas bill due Monday….stupid gas company…grrr….
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Mortons!? MORTONS!!!!!!!! So I do a little dance in the room and then my heart stopped. HE SENT MY RING BACK! Now I have to wait until Jan!!!!!! OMG! How am I going to make it!?
OR!!!
Maybe he knows I would go in the room to clean up his out of place coffee mug and I would see the paper and now he thinks that I think he won’t be doing it until Jan and I won’t expect it anytime this year when he is really planning on doing it before Jan!? UGH! Why did I even go in there!?

Oh! Accidnetly punch him in your sleep! 😀 OK, that’s not helpful, but it most likely got a chuckle and that’s what I aim for.
At least you know it is coming relatively soon. Eeeee!

ahhh, so this morning while we were getting ready for work he slips in, “So…we haven’t gone out in a long time…you know…budget in all. I kind of want to have a nice date night or something.”
I try not to act crazy happy and I say, “Well, you know what our plans were. We have to stay on course to be debt free by December so we can put everything else towards the wedding starting in Jan. Plus, I’ve lost 10 pounds by us not eating out anymore.”
He goes, “Yeah, that’s nice. We should treat ourselves though after the end of this year for our hard work. Or you can get a pair of new shoes if you want. You were looking at those pink pair online….
Me: I guess. We’ll see. A date night would be great after we pay off the last of the debt in Dec.
Him: It will be nice to celebrate the new year with no debt whatsoever.
Then he went to take a shower.
Celebrate no debt eh? I’m on to you buddy! Or am I? It’s a set up! I know it! It’s going to happen sooner! He’s throwing me off! Am I being crazy!?

Those boys are tricky, aren’t they? Maybe he just doesn’t want you to suspect anything when he takes you to a fancy dinner. I know it’s way easier said than done, but try not to get too excited for each special occasion between now and then! Last year, then-BF and I were exchanging Christmas gifts; he stood in front of me, reached into his pocket and pulled out a jewelry box, and handed it to me, looking at me expectantly. My heart stopped, and I opened the box to find…a lovely pair of diamond earrings. Grrrrr.
It certainly looks promising for this Morton’s dinner, though!

Note to all waiting ladies – make this rule that got my friend through eight years of saving EVERYTHING for marraige (both very religious, but also wanted to wait for after college for both) – She insisted feom the start on no small, ring-sized boxes unless it’s THE small, ring-size box – with a very special, important ring in it. Saves disappointment when really nice gifts like earrings or pendants aren’t what we hope is in THE box. It helped when she found a small, ring sized box two years back in her Christmas gift jacket and she knew it was her ring, and kept her from going through the wow, that’s nice but not what I hoped gift issues.

@Miss Tattoo: You are just making me laugh. Try not to read too much into everything. Although by the sound of the note it seems like he’s doing some supper planning.
Goodluck!
