I’ve seen signs on Pinterest lately that say “As we are joining two families, we ask that you pick a seat, not a side.”  I love it, and it seems like it would be fitting for you, if you’re okay with not dividing by bride and groom sides!

i have the same problem. i’ve lived in a bunch of states and my Fiance has lived the same place his whole life (which is where were doing the wedding) so all of his friends/family will be there but a lot of mine cannot attend since its so far away, so we are doing no seating plan and putting up a sign something like what @andilou said so that it does’nt look like one side is more full then the other. 🙂 good luck!!

Same problem here. I am making one of the signs to put out…that way pictures and all won’t look lopsided. That way too all you see is a bunch of people that love you and are supporting you rather then who is there for whom.

We have the same problem- my family is huge, and from my FIs side, it’s just his step mom, sister and her family, and an aunt. so we’re definitely make a sign like that.

@peachacid:  I think it means other half.

I have 55 guests, Fiance has 25.  For the ceremony, we are planning on trying to seat guests on both sides, but I’m not confident it will work out.  But I love the “choose a seat, not a side” idea.

I am doing this because the family I like don’t like fiancé and family I don’t get along with aren’t invited at all
