After having waited for what seemed endless (but in reality was just 2.5 months heh) I got news that my wedding dress arrived at the bridal store. This coming Tuesday I’ll be going in for my first fitting and I am soooo excited! And a little bit nervous at the same time. I have had quite some second thoughts about whether I picked the ‘right’ dress (though I overcame this time and time again, just to start doubting again!) and while I know it IS, it is still a bit scary. But I have no doubt that when I see her again next week and will be able to put on MY dress, it’ll just be wonderful.
I don’t think much alterations will be needed, except with the train. The dress has a rather long train – too long for my liking, so we’ll be having some cut off to make it more fitting to my liking. Mum is going to make a little purse with the left overs, so I’ll have a matching little purse to carry my makeup in on the day of the wedding!
Are there any things I should be aware of or keep an eye on during my first fitting?

Yay! I have my first fitting tomorrow, so I’ll try to check in with whatever I learn!
I’m going to be looking at how the fabric falls, if the dress feels like it’s pinching me anywhere and overall look of the dress. And hopefully I won’t have to buy a 4th pair of shoes to work with the dress (I’m trying to avoid having to hem it!).

Could someone please explain to me what it means to get something bustled?? I have read about this several times and about things like ‘a french bustle’ but I honestly have no idea what it means! /giggles
I am definitely gonne bring my torselet as well as my wedding shoes so that I can see how it all comes together. Good suggestion on paying attention to how the fabric falls all over. Looking forward hearing more tips&tricks!
Are you guys doing anything particular with your hair? Like wear it similarly to how you’d like it to be on your wedding day?

One thing I did before my fitting was eat a decent meal so I know that my dress will feel comfortable even if I’m stuffed. During the fitting, I danced, sat down, hugged, lifted my arms, etc to make sure I can move comfortably. Before the alterations, when I sat down in my dress, the neckline would open up and you could totally see down my dress so I made sure to get that fixed.
I didn’t do anything special with my hair or makeup but I kind of wish I did so I could get the full effect.
