Wedding? I think it sounds lovely, and just tell people who ask “We’re going for a purple/lavander wedding” or something like that.

You don’t have to have a theme – there are plenty of brides who don’t, and in reality your color scheme is a theme!

I had a theme b/c I love themes ๐Ÿ˜‰ and I wanted the “feel” of the wedding to tie together.

Our wedding is going to have a similar feel to yours… We’re doing deep purple/eggplant with rhinestone/silver accents. Contemplating calla lilies as well!! It’s going to be a big ole dance party, cuz that’s what our friends/family love, but there deff is no theme.

I’ve been telling people our theme is purple…

…. Or to just get married and get through the day without having a nervous breakdown. ๐Ÿ˜€

I don’t have a theme either, just colours.

I was going to do a fall theme at the beginning but that just didn’t work out. So now black, white & lime green.

I dont have a theme either. I just wanted something chic and urban and modern so I have coined the theme “City Chic”. My venue is located in the heart of the city, we’re doing our engagement pics in NYC and incorporating more modern touches in our flowers etc.

Maybe you can call your theme Purple Romance or something  – just so it sounds fancy. lol

Don’t worry about feeling like you don’t have a “theme”.  I think some people need a theme to help them figure out all the pieces of the wedding like colors, decor, invitations, etc.  As long as you know where you’re going you don’t have to define a theme.

I’m planning/coordinating my sister’s wedding for her, and when I talked to her about if she wanted to go for a theme we decided not to.  There are certain aspects we want to bring out.  For instance, the reception is at an old train station turned into a museum so we’re using old-fashioned looking lanterns for centerpieces, and when I made her invitations I used a font that reminded me of the twenties when trains were a popular form of transportation.  But “trains” aren’t the theme.

If you don’t feel you have a theme and people ask and you feel like you need to answer, you could always just tell them the theme is a romantic wedding!

We didn’t have a theme, just colors, which were black, blue, and seafoam green. Just cuz I loved the colors. Afterwards, my SIL said to someone that it was a water theme cuz we got engaged on a cruise. Never thought of it that way, but I guess it fit.  Haha, so we had a theme after all! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I always think our theme is just “We’re getting married!”  ๐Ÿ™‚ We originally wanted to do something like winter wonderland, but after the sticker shock on all of the decor we liked, we backed off and picked colors and decided we wanted things to be classic and elegant.

I like themes but I definitely don’t think you need one! Most of the weddings I have attended have a look or a feel to them, but didn’t have a theme. I think it’s totally fine if your “theme” is just details and decor that show your taste.

My theme is things that make me say “awesome,” “sweeeeet,” or “okay, fine, if that’s what you want.”

I’m all over the place with my wedding details. My favorite color is pink and FI’s favorite color is grey… so that’s our wedding colors. I fell in love with a  pair of bling-y shoes so I added a bling belt to my dress. Fiance wanted something unique for his tux so we bought x-men cuff links. We are playing unconventional music at the ceremony (ie: bridal party walking to beyonce’s “halo” and star wars finale for the recessional) and hoping to air wedding episodes/clips from our favorite tv shows in the background during dinner.

So basically, if pressed for an answer, I say that our theme is “Things Fiance and I like” =)
