Love Story by Taylor Swift, because I’m a huge dork.

“first day of my life” by bright eyes and “hands down” by dashboard confessional were also contenders

I walked to a Vitamin String Quartet version of a song by The Used that’s really meaningful to Darling Husband and I but totally not wedding appropriate.  It was perfect.

I walked down the aisle to true love by RefGina Spektor. It’s originally a Beatles song but I love her version.

kanlink:  I Caught Fire – the song has sentimental meaning to Darling Husband and I and the VSQ version is GORGEOUS.  It was my dream to walk to it since it became ‘our song’ when we first started dating but I never thought it would work.  I even debating paying people to do an arrangement for me.  Well…one day at work I was googling and found the VSQ version.  I almost started to cry at my desk – there’s a thread about it somewhere here from sometime more than a year ago.

It was perfect, no one else would have known what it was – when I played it for Darling Husband it took him a minute to figure it out.  It was perfect.

itsmeetam:  I think I’m walking down to an instrumental cover of “Keep Breathing” by Ingrid Michaelson which is one of my favorite songs. I looked into a lot of covers of songs and just something that kind of felt right.

itsmeetam:  I recommend downloading or listening to a bunch of songs by Vitamin String Quartet. They cover a bunch of well known songs in string, and you can get a feel for what you like. I was lucky enough to have a good friend who is an orchestra teacher play violin while her husband was on an acoustic guitar…..My bridal party walked down the aisle to Oasis “Wonderwall” and I walked down to Coldplay “The Scientist”, our recessional was Bittersweet Symphony. FWIW, SO many people commented on the songs and how they were perfect. Good luck!

I agree with some PPs. Look up Vitamin String Quartet on YouTube. They have some amazing renditions of well known songs. I am walking down to Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay since Fiance and I love that song and VSQs version of it is beautiful.

ginae1255:  LOVE! Our wedding was just when this song started playing on the radio, but I had been obsessed with it since the release of Ghost Stories…I requested it to be our last dance, and it’s the song on our highlight trailer. Amazing!!!!
