I’m taking my AA 207 (Snow White) dress to get altered and the lady told me to bring the undergarments that I plan to wear, but I don’t know what to wear!
Do I really need to buy special undergarments? I honestly hadn’t even considered that! Please provide me with links and/or suggestions! Thanks!

@khaleeesi: Do you plan to wear a bra? Most ladies purchase a longline bra or corset bra. I wear a 36A in real life, but my longline bra was a 34C! This removed the need to alter the bust.
Not all brides wear a bra though. Just depends on the dress and your size.
You’ll also need to know which shoes you’re wearing so you can get it hemmed right (if needed).

I’m sure she just wants you to bring the bra you plan on wearing (or something similar) or you could always opt to have cups sewn in instead.

You don’t need fancy undergarments (or any undergarments, for that matter, depending on the dress). I don’t know what the top of that dress is like, but if you can just wear a normal bra or strapless bra that you already have, that’s fine. They just want you to wear the exact bra you’re going to wear at the wedding so that they can alter it perfectly.

Depending on the style of the dress you can probably just have them sew cups right into the dress. I’d probably just bring a regular strapless bra if you plan on doing that.

My plan is to have cups sewn in. I am taking several pairs of underwear to ensure that if I want something colored underneath it won’t show through.

They usually ask that you wear whatever you’re going to on the wedding day (undies, bra, shoes etc) so they know EXACTLY what to alter and how, without guessing/estimating.
The first time I got married, my dress did not require a bra (thankfully) and I wore regular panties and some tall shoes I had found (seamstress insisted I get high heels because she claimed she couldn’t alter the dress to be any shorter for me).

Since my dress is strapless and has an empire waist then just flows down it already covers up everything so I don’t anticipate needing any shapers or spanx or anything. I’m just going to wear a strapless bra, the one I have probably isn’t the exact one I plan on wearing at the wedding but it is the right size so hopefully that will suffice! Thanks for reassuring me I wasn’t really missing anything!

@khaleeesi: Just a thought, I would go and buy the exact same bra. Some dresses (my daughter’s) need a bra that was about 3cm lower than her existing strapless bra because it was showing under the dress.
Also when she went to buy the new (lower back) strapless bra, she decided on getting one with ‘padding’… get the picture.

@khaleeesi: Nothing special is needed unless you want it. I had a strapless bra from VS (with crystals so it was nice when my hubby got to see it) and an “I DO” thong from Hanky Panky.
