Find something else to do. Distract yourself. Show some self control and will power. Think of it as respecting your FI’s desire to propose to you in his way.

….you do these things while feeling like a jerk before during and after, yet you can’t stop yourself? Hmm.

I have ruined some surprises as well and now i regret it. I hate that I know a lot but I have stopped snooping and it is going to still be a surprise. Trust me, DON’T look!! You are going to ruin it and then regret it. let there be some sort of surprise when he proposes. try and LET IT GO!

Put the package away (but tell your fiance where it is :p) and get out of the house! Once he’s back in town, have him take the box with him so the temptation is gone!

I’ve received surprise packages, so I can understand how tempting it is to just shred the box to pieces. I try to leave the house to go window shopping/work out/drive around to “forget” about whatever’s going on in my life. Go drive around downtown Seattle during rush hour. I guarantee you’ll forget about your ring, LOL

Or you can just read a bunch of blogs on here to try to forget that you have a big present waiting for you! 🙂 It doesn’t make you an awful person for wanting to look at your gift. I just about peed my pants when I received my engagement ring from the FedEx guy while Fiance was at work. I had the package in my hands for the rest of the day. I remember shaking it periodically to make sure the ring was still in the sealed box, LOL!

Anyway, I hope you find something to distract you for the next two months!

@missbluesky:  lol I can sort of understand liking surprises (I admit I don’t quite like surprises myself), but the thought of ruining it for myself and especially for the other person would stop me from snooping. Go cross stitch something! lol

EDIT: Or study 😛

I don’t understand- you picked the ring out, so you know what it looks like…what’s the pull to look at it again?

I’d understand if you hadn’t a clue what it looks like, but you do. So live off your memories for a couple of months, have a look at it on the website even. But don’t go opening the box because, until it’s given to you, it’s not yours to touch!! 🙂

i picked out my ring and knew when it arrived and it was still a surprise, so it still can be for you, too.

Aaaah, now I understand! It would be tempting to see how it all worked out! But still, like I said, it’s not yours yet, so don’t ruin the final surprise for yourself and keep your hands off!! ;P

ARE YOU MY SURPRISE TWIN?!

ok. I hate surprises. I really don’t like them. I never have. Ever. I was very upfront with my boyfriend and we compromised.

for me, when I can’t stand to wait its that I don’t trust the outcome. That’s how I operate. So I find something else to do or tell friends. Im also a bit psychic so truly very few things surprise me. He knows this.
