A little back story…
I’m a widow, and my late husband passed away 3 years ago. I was left a widow and only parent of four young kids (who are now 11, 11, 9 and 6). Well, I’ve always wanted to take the kids to the spot where their dad proposed to me 13 years ago (Victoria BC), but we never managed to go due to time constraints or finances or whatever.
The other day i wrote a blog post about the day my late husband proposed to me (just the other day actually, 13 years ago though), and my fiance read it today and sent me this huge long text about it. Basically, we’re moving soon with the Army, and visiting this place would not be able to happen again for years. He told me today he wants all 6 of us to go to Victoria next month so that the kids can see where their dad proposed to me because it’s important for all of us. All because my blog post said how much I wanted to visit it again. I know I’m going to cry seeing this spot again…haven’t been there since the day he proposed.
And…at our wedding, he said he thinks we should have a picture of my late husband on a chair up front where the kids will be sitting. To recognize that he will always be a part of our family.
I’m just blown away by how caring and loving he is, and how respectful he is to my late husband. I am so blessed to have such a great guy like him!! eHarmony FTW!!

awwwww onions? you ladies are silly 😛 And great!! He really is a truly incredible man. I really am an advocate of eHarmony. I love how well they matched the two of us together. He’s pretty fantastic…36 year old bachelor and he doesn’t have any kids either!
I was actually living in BC when I met my late husband in Victoria…i grew up in BC (we live in WA state now) and we went to Victoria for the day and that’s when he proposed, on the grass in front of the Empress hotel. I plan on taking the photo of our engagement there with us to Victoria, and have my fiance take a pic of all the kids and I (me holding that picture) in front of the empress…just like my late husband and I did. I’m just lucky that he is so open to this! I’m seriously amazed at him.
