The first dress I bought is a huge ball gown. It’s simple. Beaded lace was added to the original dress on bust area. Since I couldn’t imagine myself wearing this to the reception, I looked for second dress for reception and got the following A-line dress. Second dress is slimer with lots of laces, and tulle is more delicate. The second dress is originally twice the price of the first one but I got both at really good prices. I like both of the dresses in different ways. First one is the ultimate princess ball gown. The second one shows off my figure better, and definitely looks more refiined and expensive. My mom and mother in law gently suggested selling the first one online. My mom personally thinks the first dress looks cheap. I feel like I should wear both because they are pretty in their own ways, but I do like the second one better too.
I need fellow bee’s unbiased opinion. Does the first dress look too massive? cheap-looking?
If I bought the second one first, I wouldn’t have gotten the first one. Should I keep both or wear just one? If both, which sequence?
The second dress is following. I don’t have picture of myself wearing the dress. The pictures are same dresses I found on-line. I will remove the picture if there is any issue. I am 5″2, size 2 and will be wearing 3-4inch heel.

I never like that first dress on any bride. At all. I voted to wear the a-line only.

You have a nice figure and I think you should show it off with the a-line dress and not hide it with the ball gown dress.

The a-line (is it the dabra?) is SO much more elegant. I say stick with that. You said it yourself that you wouldn’t have bought the first dress if you had gotten the 2nd first.

I would stick with the a-line as well. I understand having two different dresses if you want a “reception” dress, but honestly, those are both “ball gowns” to me and too similar. I’d sell the first one.

A-line all the way!
That ballgown looks ridiculously bottom heavy.

I actually LOVE the first dress. With the right stand out jewelery and maybe a sash, I feel like that would be GORGEOUS on you.

Your first dress looks just like mine! So gorgeous and I certainly don’t think it looks cheap or not-elegant. It’s just different since the trend right now is the slimmer fitting type of gowns, it’s certainly very regal in its own way and I think you look absolutely stunning in it.

There’d be no point in changing gowns since the second is almost as big as the first.

I’m not a ball gown person, so I much prefer the A-line. Very pretty. To be honest, even the a-line is quite big and they look very similar in style to me! I wouldn’t see the point in getting changed and using one as a reception dress.

I would ROCK that first dress all night long!!! I personally like ball gowns, and that is what wore on my wedding dress, a ball gown. The first dress is just so gorgeous on you, you should definetely wear it.

Aren’t they both ballgowns? The second just isn’t as poofy. I don’t see enough difference to wear them both. I would just wear dress 2 and sell the first.

A-Line is gorggggggggg honey!

I don’t think the first dress looks cheap, but the second is definitely more romantic and elegant.

I think they are both lovely in their own right, but seem too similar for there to be much point in wearing both. I think my personal predernce leans towards the first one – it’s more exciting and unique – but you like the second dress better then I’d just wear that.
