Everytime I hear it ping or clank against something my heart stops. I’ve only had it since July 2011 and I’ve already had a loose stone from getting it caught in the copier at work. Just this past weekend, I smacked it off of a table and earlier today I hit it against a handicap railing in the bathroom… it made such a loud sound I thought for sure I messed something up.. but I checked it and it appears to be ok. Not wearing it isn’t an option.. I try to be careful but I swear I’m like a bull in a china shop with this ring! Thank God Darling Husband purchased the protection plan…
Any other bees clumsy with their ring(s)?

I totally understand where you are coming from!
I don’t think I am clumsy with my rings, I try to be caeful, but I have terrible luck. I lost my original e ring, and in the past 4 months, I have had 2 different rings, from different jewelers, and I managed to mess up a prong on each one! I have also lost diamonds from 3 different eternity rings..jewelery is so much work!!

I hit mine on the treadmill so many times it is crazy. It has taken a beating, but is solid and not messed up at all.

I’m very nervous to get my e-ring back from the jewelers for this very reason. My placeholder has been a tungsten ring and those things can take a serious beating. I’m terrified of messing up the gold ring.

I hit mine on things too! Aarrrggghhh it’s so annoying and heart-wrenching everytime I hear my beautiful e-ring hit against something 🙁 Just the other day I was visiting my best friend and was playing with her newborn on the living room floor, and as I lifted the baby up I accidentally smacked my re-ring against the coffee table and now there’s a small ding on the side of my band. I was so heart-broken when I saw that! (I’ve only had my ring for 2 months now) I love platinum but really hate how it’s a “softer metal” (compared to other metals like white gold). I’ve considered not wearing my e-ring as much, but I love her so much I can’t bear to be away from her too long… ;).

@a_marie13: I’m super clumsy with my ring and I never take it off, but I haven’t had a problem yet. It’s gold, but was handmade by an artisan jeweler. One of my FI’s co-workers got a ring from Kay or Zales or something like that, and she’s had tons of problems with loose stones even though she is very careful. I think it just depends on the setting.

I felt like that the other day. I hit my e-ring and my heart skipped a beat. lol. It has a lot of tiny diamonds and so afraid they are going to fall off, one by one. lol. But it was ok. And I’ve only had my ring for 2 weeks!

I do the same thing too! Its almost like everytime I hear the “cling” when I hit it on something, my hearts drops a little as I look at my ring to make sure the stone is still there…kinda like the same feeling I get everytime I drop my iphone on the ground. lol.
