SO has been very adamant that we go camping over Labor Day weekend. He has also said that the proposal was coming “soon” and during the month of September. Putting two and two together, I am pretty sure it is coming this weekend.
Or was supposed to. Yesterday I twisted my knee, and now I can barely walk! I don’t know what the plan is as far as which campsite in particular or anything like that, but how am i going to go camping on a bum knee? I won’t be able to help put up the tent, or carry my things, or hike, or swim, or anything!
Any advice for how to make a knee mend faster?

I messed-up my husband’s proposl plans twice. Completely clueless until he told me after we were married, but apparently he kept trying! 🙂

Elevate, ice, and for Pete’s sake, go anyway!! 😀
Do you have a set of crutches you could borrow from someone?

Walk it off? Rub some dirt on it?

I was talking to him on IM just now, and he said he was going ahead and making the reservation. Still keeping my poker face on, I thanked him for taking the reins on planning the trip, because it’s nearly impossible for me to make calls from my desk due to open office plan and poor reception. He told me “No worried. This is really important to me, too.”
I have a bandage on it now, and I’ve been taking high-dose naproxin with some ibuprofin. Hopefully that does the trick, but if not, I guess I will just take Juliepants and Lulume‘s advice and go anyway. I know if this was just another camping trip, he would probably be a lot more “wait and see” about the state of my knee. That’s a really good sign, as far as I’m concerned–I was afraid until now that he was going to call off the whole thing, but he doesn’t seem to be. I was half afraid he would call it off, and by Friday I’d feel fine!
Ugh. Friday is going to take so long to get here if I’m stuck on the couch. Though, I guess as problems go, there are certainly worse ones to have. Thanks for the support and happy thoughts!

@MrsCarnival: The sad thing is, if I thought there was some dirt out there that would actually work, I wouldn’t think twice!

Yes. There are definitely going to be margaritas tonight. For this, and other reasons!
