MAO!!! I so love these pics.  I see a bunch because of a few friends on FB are involved in the LGBT community. and are frequently sharing these photos!

EVERYTHING in the bible can be taken and twisted to suit yourself.

Also, Why in the HELL would I want to follow a book that says it’s okay to marry a kid (sorry, but anyone who labels a girl as an “adult” just because she’s ‘matured’ to where she starts menustrating is a freaking idiot), okay to stone people to death because of a crime, claims people are witches yet doesn’t put the title on Jesus or Moses despite their non-mortal acts (parting water, curing blindness, etc)… and, (my favorite) TREATS WOMEN AS CHATTEL?????

Sorry, I think I’ll pass on the bible.

As for gay marraiges: why not?

Would it be better if one of the men had a sex change complete with a boob job???  Would you shut up and stop screaming “it’s wrong!!!” then???  Explain to me HOW gays marrying can harm anyone.  And don’t use the bible for your reasoning.  See above for the reasoning WHY the bible isn’t the best object on the planet to base your beliefs off of.

Oh, and I’ll also add, I made a rainbow-LGBT pride pitchfork for a friend.  And she loved it, as does her wubby.  (her word, not mine! LOL!)

@Zinzerena: Agreed on all points!

Also, slightly more controversial but why should we base our laws on the bible?

Last time I checked the USA (hell, the entire world) wasn’t all Christian. Every citizen doesn’t subscribe to the same beliefs. There is absolutely no proof that the bible is the word of god, or if god even exists. So until there is some sort of definitive proof why should we descriminate against homosexuals by not allowing them to marry? I am an atheist, and to me that is like basing laws off of a fairy tale. Which is what the bible is, essentially. A collection of stories passed down through generations. That’s all it is and until it is proven that it is the word of god, that’s all it will remain.

If we’re going to ban gay marriage based on the fact that the Christian bible forbids it, we might as well ban the consumption of beef since the Hindu faith forbids it, and allow the stoning of adulterers because the Islam faith allows it.

I really hate how when one Christian says something that is considerd close minded it all of a sudden becomes “95% of Christians are close minded”. I’m a Christian, and a conservative and I support gay marriage because I believe in seperation of church and state and that the government should not have a say in people’s marriages. Two of my closest friends are gay and I love them and pray that they have a happy life. If it is a sin then let God handle that. Who am I to judge? They are my friends, I love them and that’s all that matters to me.

All I’m saying is let’s lay off the Christianity bashing. You can’t build one group of people up by tearing down another.

And I think the signs posted here are clever and pretty funny!

@Gingersnap: AGREED!  🙂

oh, and it was written by men and in the man’s favor.  Am I the only one who finds that suspect?

And, really, thrown out of Eden because they ATE A FREAKING APPLE?!?  Yet they could have sex without being married…. and then the bible says you have to be married to have sex.

soooooooo…. that’s a contradiction right there… and the bases for A LOT of arguments.

or…. did god marry them and it wasn’t in the version I read as a kid???  Admittedly, it was one of the kids’ bibles you find in doctor’s offices and hospitals… so maybe they left that out?

I LOVE #3 🙂

Also – if the only reason you can give for banning gay marriage is based in religion, GTFO of my country. Freedom of religion doesn’t give you the right to deny basic civil rights to ANYONE regardless of your biased opinion.

I think that this thread is made to promote tolerance.

Those that are bashing the bible and what other people believe are no better than those that are homophobic.

I am catholic and think that everyone should have the right to get married.

I don’t believe the same things that baptists believe but I’m not going to rip them apart or say what they believe is not right. I know that this world isn’t perfect, but maybe if those that were seeking tolerence practiced it themselves they would be quicker to receive it and vice versa. So harrasing someone who doesn’t agree with your point of view isn’t going to help the cause.

That is really all I have to say about this.

This post just made my night! Thanks for the laughs (with the truth involved!). I was raised in a very conservative Christian home and used to get nasty looks from my parents when I would start running my mouth everytime our pastor preached about the sin of being gay. I mean really, don’t we have bigger fish to fry, bigger problems to solve? I still consider myself Christian but ALSO want equal rights for all regarding marriage. Again, aren’t there bigger issues we should be dealing with than two people who love each other, wanting to be married for goodness sake? Hopefully I see the day, soon, where everyone has the right to be married!

@Mrs.Vowrenewal: I don’t think this is true, I doubt you have had the opportunity to survey the Christian population in this country. But thank you…I guess.
