This is me every morning when I hear the news. How has his phone not been taken away for the sake of national security?

It’s upsetting to think that this is the representation the US gets. It’s even more upsetting that there IS a significant number of people in America who approve of him. I mean… how can this behavior not embarrass you? How can sanity not prevail here? To the rest of the world: we really are trying here. It takes time and anger to change the whole system that allowed him to become president, but I’m hopeful that it is changing. I always encourage my friends and family to participate in ALL elections they can. I’ve even posted the Democratic and Republican sample ballots before with links to get registered. But it takes time and encouragement to get everyone on board and even to convince people that voting matters.

Isn’t that almost word for word a quote from the Wizard of Oz? Who, as we all know, turned out to be a big blustering fraud…?

He doesn’t scare me. What scares me is that 62,984,828 people voted for this man. 62,984,828 of our neighbors, coworkers, family members…

And these folks STILL support him. Some doing so proudly. That is the great tragedy, IMO.

Every time I despair that the UK are stuck with Boris Johnson, Trump does something like this and reminds me it could be worse…

kittycatcat :

Its sad but true that Trump makes you realise Boris could be a lot worse. What is even sadder is that a lot of my family think Trump is great and that “the media is biased against him”, these are the same people who love Boris and are vehement Brexitiers. I can only assume people who approve of their behaviour share the same hostile, racist and juvenile mindsets as them because to everyone else it’s embarassing and abhorrent. To me things are that extreme now that it’s gone beyond a mere difference of political opinion and is revealing people’s true characters and values.

Honesty. he sounds like someone with dementia to me.  Alzheimer’s runs in my family and his nonsensical ranting just sounds so familiar to me.

I think he is losing his grip on reality.

Being from the South, I know many many many people who voted for Trump. People can say all they want but this is the truth of the matter: they liked Trump because he was white. They hated Obama because he was black and they wanted a white man back in office. That’s it. There’s not more to it than that.

So when Obama’s time was up, they jumped at the chance to get someone like Trump in office: racist, mysogonist, transphobic, homophobic. They didn’t like him in SPITE of those views they liked him BECAUSE of those views.

However, he’s slowly but surely losing his base because he’s not keeping his “campaign promises” (no border wall and Mexico isn’t paying for shit), so now President dipshit’s latest move with pulling the troops out of northern Syria, isn’t because he cares about getting the troops home or cares about the United States: he’s desperate to get his approval rating up. However, that was a horrendous move and even his most loyal republican sycophants (I’m looking at you, Mitch McConnell) are speaking out against him.

ALL THAT being said, there are still so many still blindly supporting Trump. Because he’s a white bigot and to them, that’s the end all be all goal of what the United States should be: a nation of white bigots.

Pathetic. God help my country.

missviolet92 :  the electoral college is broken (he lost the popular vote) and nearly 40% of eligible voters stayed home.
