After calling off my wedding in September (mere weeks before my wedding) I couldnt watch wedding shows, come on the bee, or even look at my own wedding shoes or anything from my fated day. I had waited so long, I wanted to heal first. I started coming back to the bee, but sticking with the Not Wedding Related section. I dipped my toe in the water by watching a few minutes of my former fav show, Bridezillas. Finally today I went to some wedding related posts and I realized, I cant do it. I am still not healed! Its been almost a year since my relationship dissolved, surely I should be able to go to a website! Will I ever snap out of it? Will I be able to look at my wedding dress? Will I ever have hope for getting married one day?

Why torture yourself?! You WILL have hope to get married again, and In My Humble Opinion, that is when you should dive back into wedding related blogs, tv shows, etc. I can’t imagine how hard it was for you to call off your wedding, but obviously it is something you knew needed to be done for yourself. That being said, since you currently don’t have a NEED to search for/look at wedding related things, then allow yourself more time to heal and get back into the wedding process when the time comes for you to do that again. At that point you will again be excited to plan for a wedding and won’t feel the hurt you do now. Good luck!!!

Agree with LMC- focus on YOU, not wedding stuff! You need to heal…

wedding called off because former Fiance and I were having some issues with trust and communication, then we got pregnant, and then everything dissolved. we had been together for 6 years and engaged for one.
I am just afraid that was my last chance for happiness, even though I wasnt that happy.
