HopefulCatlover: I’m walking down to Pachabel’s Canon as well. I started playing the viola in 3rd grade and the first time I ever heard that song, I promised my young self I would walk down the aisle to it ๐ My girls, Man of Honor, Niece, Nephew and dogs are walking down to Van Morrison’s “Sweet Thing.” I told Fiance he could pick any song he wanted, as long as he ran it by me first, haha.

Darling Husband and I were engaged and married in our first year together. I choose can’t help falling in love by Ingrid Michaelson. I was looking and it made me cry when I heard it. After that I always teared up Lol. The first line, “some may say only fools rush in” got me good.

cassadina: i absolutely lovedddd it. They played so beautifully. A string quartet is uncommon, but thats what makes it more ‘wow’ bc its not something you see very often and i think people will appreciate that. the most important part of my wedding was the ceremony and i wanted it to be perfect and hiring the cellist and guitarist made my vision in my head come alive

Canon seems to be popular!! ๐ Not surprised though. It is beautiful!! We havent desided yet on live vs recorded music. Live music is really magical but recorded is free and cant go wrong ๐

I heard it on the radio. Mind you I had heard it thousands of times, but for some reason I heard it that day and it clicked. I told Darling Husband to listen to the song and he agreed that it was perfect.

I was watching The Wedding Singer one night (seen it a hundred times before), but the lyrics of “Grow Old With You” hit home. They are just so cute and what I hope our relationship will still be like when we’re old and gray. I asked my hubby (then fiancé) if he thought it was a good choice and he agreed that it was ๐
A friend sang it and played it on his acoustic guitar as I walked down the aisle.

I’ve been a big fan of Sigur Ros for years, and I hear a string version of “Hoppipolla”. Burst into tears, and it was settled

I had Canon in D on my shortlist but decided against it.
sealevels: I am using Hoppipolla too!!! So excited someone else is! Are you starting it from the beginning? I’m trying to figure out when would be the appropriate part to play time wise.
It seriously is such a beautiful song!
