so i checked my BCP pack today and it says i’m scheduled to have my period next weekend April 30 and I thought I was gonna have it the following week, May 6th, when I’m going to my bachelorette in Vegas! That would have been a no no too! but now I’m gonna have it weekend of my wedding… it will start May 28th!! and That following weekend we will still be honeymooning, June 4.
So I was going to manipulate it so I will just stop my BCP all together this week (3rd week) and see if I get a period or not… probably not cuz i’ve gone like missing 5 days and i still get it on schedule (every 4 weeks). So I’m going to restart my pack next week, which will let me have my period on May 21st.
DO you think this will work out?

I think it will, but just to be sure, carry some pads with you incase you end up getting “breakthrough bleeding” like I did, sooo not fun!!

@spoonoutmyheart: Take your pills normal for now… When you get to your wedding day just go straight through to your next pack of pills. Don’t take the “reminder” pills that you usually take during your period. And voila, no period. Then just continue as normal the next month.

I know this sounds weird, but doctors also offer a simple and pain-free procedure that eliminates your period for that month. It is a common procedure for honey-mooners, and brides like yourself. If you have a OBGYN, ask them if they perform menstrual extractions or know a reliable source that does. If you start a new pack right away, you may or may not have break-through bleeding. Either way good luck and I’m about 80% sure I’ll be in the same boat as you when that time comes…

Seriously, I’m with @Mrs.tobe: start a new pack of birth control pills immediately following the last one, with no break for sugar pills. You won’t get a period when you do this, and you can do it at least twice in a row without very many side effects. When you do take your sugar pills the next month and get your period, it will be longer and heavier and more painful, but small price to pay for not being on the rag on your wedding day, right?
Just DON’T mess with your BCP without talking to your doctor otherwise – unless you’re okay with the possibility of a honeymoon baby.
