I’m sorry.  If it’s any consolation I know exactly how you feel (I hate hate hate my job) but I can’t leave because I’d lose my visa.  What are your plans now?

I’m really sorry. That is horribly frustrating. Unfortunately, that is retail. It’s horrible. My mother always had a saying “they can treat you like crap, or they can pay you crap, but they can’t do both.” I hope they realize how much you did once you aren’t there.

@Sarahsaurus:  Oh no! Of course you haven’t.  They bullied you! You shouldn’t be ashamed of that. And life is far too short to let people get on top of you like that!  Good luck.

Sorry you had to go through that. Don’t feel like you let anybody down, you should be proud that you had enough respect for yourself to walk away from that type of toxic work environment. You’ll find something else for sure. I quit a retail job I HATED with no other job lined up and guess what?! A month and half later I got another job making $10,000 more doing what I really wanted to do (it included a lot of HR related duties).

Retail work sucks big time, I used to work for the (bullseye, big retailer in college)….don’t want to say the name,…but I think you unserstand….worse work ever, especially when I was given control of the shoe department, was so glad when I got out of there….don’t let this brief episode of your life affect your spirits…you did the right thing for your well being and sanity.
