Ok so I finished college this past December, but since it wasnt such a big enough school I guess they only have ceremonies in May, which I am anxiously waiting for! I just received my Bachelors of Applied Technology in Technology Management (I got my Associates in Business Administration but they didnt have that Bachelors at my school). I do have to say that I dont plan to do anything with it, but I still fill accomplished, and know that if I ever need it I have something to back me up. (I would like to open up my own ballroom one day, and Fiance would like to open up his own restaurant) so I’m sure my degree will be needed in the future. I know many will say that if I dont plan to do anything with it now then what was the purpose of going to school, but I dont see it that way, I wanted to have a backup plan if ever needed, and I just accomplished it! I would post a picture of my degree like I am everywhere else lol but since it has my full name and what not I prefer not too.
Thanks for reading! Tell me, what degree did you go after, and what do you plan to do with it?

Congratulations!! I was in college for elementary education, but decided that it wasn’t in my best interest to continue considering the economy, no jobs, etc. I don’t want to fight for my job every year nor go through being watched under a microscope. I do plan to finish my two years and getting a degree in psychology. I may become a RN. I’m not sure as of right now though.

First of all super super congrats WOOHOO!!!! many people don’t realize how much work that is. Great Job!
Second I have to answer this both professionally and personally. I am an accademic advisor in the University of Alaska system accomplishing ANY degree is a big task and you are don with it. Employers, honestly, don’t really always care what your degree is in unless you are going in to a fairly specialized field. They do care that you have a degree, you set a goal, you stuck to you guns and you finished it so for that you have completed exactly what you decided you needed was to make your self marketable to employers in the event that you need to.
Personally, I have a degree in Home Ec. There are not many schools that still offer this, and I personally believe that it is the greatest degree on the planet for teaching how to live etc. I also think it is the most useless degree on the planet for getting a job. (unless I want to be a seamstress, florist, or cook) That being said, a few years ago I went back and added education to that degree so that I could teach homec. That worked out all fine and dandy until the university offerd me a better deal here. I am a serial student and am currently working on another certificate in Ethnobotany and a masters in Rural/Community Development.
I am curently opening my own coffee shop and will be open some time this month! So that ties in the homec and the community development stuff i guess. kind of
