As a fellow German Shepherd owner, I totally get you.

I don’t know if non Shepherd people quite understand.  If I’d been there, all I would have needed to here was “GSD”.

Enjoy your goofballs & try not to worry about it.

theatrejulia:  Wel it is great on one hand that so many people stepped up to ensure you were safe. That is a great sign in society!

But I can understand the frustration. I ended up in hospital a lot as a child. A combination of being a totally uncoordinated human being and having a chronic illness. My parents and I were forever talking to social workers who asked about every single cut and bruise. If there was a coffee table corner you can bet I would run into it, multiple times. A tree, well that clearly has to be climbed even though I sucked at it and would do some kind of damage. Basically the hospital would be worried I was being abused (a good thing that should not be discouraged) so my parents were just open and honest and accepted that the hospital had a job to do and while a waste of time in my case, the next patients case could actually be abuse.

theatrejulia:  oh man. Thats a toughy, especially cause recently my dogs ran and tackled me, so i get or lol. But as the previous post mentioned, glad people went up and asked rather than being silent but hopefully they get it that dogs do tend to be a bit tough sadly

Oh geez. Yea I understand too. I have a goofy little great dane and she bruises me every once in a while by just bumping into me. I wouldn’t waste too much time explaining to folks that it wasn’t your husband. People won’t understand unless they themselves have big dogs. I would laugh it off and show them cute pics of your pups instead.

My 15 lb maltese likes to walk all over me when I’m sleeping. I get little finger print sized bruises up and down my arms and legs sometimes. I always just explain that my dog is a brat and most people get it. I havent had anyone blatantly not believe me.

theatrejulia:  awwww! Your babies are so beautiful! We had a GS for years until he passed away.  They are the best dogs…but they think they’re the size of teacup chihuahuas lol

I would love to have another but I already have 3 miniature dachshunds that think they’re hot shiz.  They used to terrorize our German Shepherd to death.  Between a hyper GS, wild toddler, and abusive wieners…there probably wouldn’t be much left of me

People just don’t even know 😂
