Its very difficult to buy your dress online if your not going to a site like David’s Bridal that’s well known. I say go to different boutiques and stores and try on gowns until you find YOUR dress. Get the style name/number for the dress and do an Internet search. Check out the different prices on sites and at different boutiques and go from there. Just be sure you check the reviews from whatever site you go to and make sure its an authorized distributor and not a knockoff. Also, sometimes if you buy your dress at a store they can mail it to you as well.

I would say, dont buy it online. you need to go try dresses on and get sized…

I think it’s fine to go online.  I think you can get some GREAT deals on the pre-owned and sample dress websites.  For the price of a David’s Bridal dress, you could get a designer gown.

The pre-owned sites:

Pre-owned Wedding Dresses
Once Wed
Recycled Bride
Bravo Bride

The sample/resale shops:

Church Street Bridal (online and b&m, proceeds go to charity, gets donations from Kleinfeld)
Vows (online and b&m)
Your Dream Dress
Le Dress Boutique (online and b&m)
Encore Bridal (online and b&m)
Fabulous Frocks of Charleston (online and b&m)
White Chicago (closing soon!)

I would look on Etsy.  They have beautiful dresses that are really well made.  A friend of mine did that and just took it to a seamstress to have it fitted.

Also, if you’re looking for a dress that’s a bit simpler, you can try White House Black Market, Nordstrom, or Bloomingdales.  They all have wedding dresses that you can get for around $500 or less in some cases.

@BuzzBuzz: Great suggestion!  The Limited, J. Crew, and Ann Taylor might be options, too!

Someone on this board (I think) figured out that the White House | Black Market dresses might be made in the same factory as the J. Crew dresses.

@exbride:  I purchased my dress on mylove-bridal.com.  it was a few nerve racking weeks before I finally had it in my hands, but it is honestly perfect and just like the picture.  I was nervous after reading some of the reviews online, but it worked out for me.  AND my dress was only $100 total with shipping and everything.
