@lolot:  ((HUGS))  Oh, you poor baby!  Try some 100% pure vitamin E oil for your lip, it heals things really fast, also pure aloe gel and Neosporin could help.  The sore throat – take vitamin C, Advil and drink lots of orange juice.

And you’re getting MARRIED IN 2 DAYS, rain or shine – EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

πŸ™‚  It will be ok!!!

@lolot:  At the end of the day you are marrying the love of your life. If it rains, that supposed to be goodluck!

For your throat drink lots of tea with honey. It works wonders! I hate tea but it does work!

I used to freak out about the weather and its something we can’t control. And if it happens, it happens. No matter what, your pictures will be beautiful bc you will be a beautiful bride. The bride is what makes the pictures

Load up on zinc. Seriously, its the best thing for your immune system and I have escaped so many colds by taking it early. Its like $6 in the vitamin section of the store. I usually take one a day and NEVER get sick. But if I’ve been slacking and feel a cold coming on I take 4-5 a day and usually the sickness doesn’t escalate. Its so much more effective than Vitamin C or any medicines that just mask the symptoms.

@Sunfire:  +1 on the vitamin E!

ETA: If you do try the zinc make sure to take it with food, otherwise it can make you really nauceous.

@adoc86:  +1 back at ya.  I forgot about zinc, it’s awesome!  Just don’t overdose on it, though, it can be poisonous.    πŸ™‚

@lolot:  I’m so sorry.  Life tends to like to add even more stress to already stressfull events.

*Try* to get lots of rest (nyquil before you go to bed) and drink honey and hot water and perhaps even some theraflu (works great) during the day to help get rid of that sore throat.  Also, gargle with a mixture of very warm water and LOTS of salt.

Looking into tents is a good idea.  I think you seem to be taking care of this aspect, and the fact that you’re on top of it is awesome.

Take a deep breath and remember-no worries, because no matter how much it rains, at the end of the day you get to marry the love of your life-who will be just as happy to marry you rain or no, chunk missing from your lip or no.  Wink

@lolot:  I’m sorry πŸ™ I feel terrible when things like this happen to people. I know I couldn’t cope. The stress and expectation of a wedding is one of the reasons we eloped. I couldn’t deal with so much uncertainty or having things unravel.

I would gargle with salt water and also try a salt compress on your lip – it can speed healing. Ice can reduce swelling. I’m sure your make-up artist can make everything look fine. Drink honey tea like it’s going out of style.

I hope everything works out!

@lolot: Hugs! I’m not sure if it helps, but do know that you’re not the only bride that have been going “WTF UNIVERSE?!”. As an example, I’ve pretty much never had a pimple in my whole life… guess what I wake up with the morning of my wedding? Not a huge one, but I had a really hard time covering it up and I felt awful. I’m trying to comfort myself with the fact that it’s a really easy thing to remove with photoshop. Hopefully the same goes for you lip! As for the weather, I’ll cross my fingers and hold my thumbs (what we do for good luck in Sweden) that you don’t get rain!

@lolot:  put some echinacea in your tea with honey too and it will help with the sore throat – and what everyone else said to do with your lip.

And try your best to get plenty of sleep and relax.  Its your wedding day and unfortunately theres nothing you can do to stop mother nature! Congratulations soon to be MRS!

Oh no. πŸ™

Even though your sore throat could be viral, you may want to call your doctor for some antibiotics — just in case it’s not — since you may not have access to them while you’re on your honeymoon.

I literally started to get a sore throat on my wedding day, while traveling from my salon to my venue (a two hour trip in traffic), and I kept praying and took some Extra-Strength Tylenol.  My full-blown sore throat/cold/swollen glands/runny nose didn’t arrive until I was on my honeymoon.

I’m so sorry about your lip. Ouch. πŸ™  I hope you (or your MUA) will be able to cover the problem on your big day.

It’s good that you’re able to order larger tents for your outdoor wedding.  I hope you don’t need them, but you’re very wise to make provision for the predicted weather.

I hope you end up having a wonderful day! HUGS!
