Hey, guesst what? You’re still getting married! In 2 days! That is super exciting despite everything. The lip can be covered and fix, the sore throat won’t even phase you the day of if it is still hanging around, and the rain will make for a very nice, cool day. It will also make for great pictures. It rained at 5AM on my wedding day, and I was freaking out becuase I wanted pics outside. It quit. Yeah, the grass was wet, but it was cool for us and ther was no sun to interfere with my pictures.

There is always a silver lining if you look hard enough. It will all work out πŸ™‚

@lolot:  That SUCKS!!  I would get to the doctor ASAP about the sore throat.  Even though they probably can’t give you anything that will CURE it in 2 days, they might be able to give you something that makes it more bearable and eases the pain.

As for your lip, I would ice that baby and take some ibprofen to reduce the swelling.  Two days makes a big difference when it comes to that stuff.

I know you’re so sad about the weather, but A) weather forecasts are notoriously inaccurate–what they say the weather will be in two days versus what the weather actually IS two days from now can be two completely different things.  And B) even if it does rain/storm, it’s not something you have control over.  Two of my friends got married on the same day this past March, and it SNOWED, HAILED, and SLEETED all day long.  And you know what?  They both have gorgeous and unique pictures from their weddings and both of them still had a wonderful time.

@lolot:  REST! Make people bring you soup and stock up on throat lozenges and something for the lip. It will go down in two days though. Just relax lady, everything will work out. *hugs*

@MrsPanda99:  I didn’t get sick at all, not a cold or anything, for 4 years when I was taking one a day. This includes times when I was sleeping in bed with a sick Fiance and going to college with a bunch of sick people. Nope, not me πŸ™‚ Its definitely worth it. I’ve gotten lazy with taking it lately, but if I feel something coming on and I take it then I’ll only be sick for maybe a day or two.

I’ve turned everyone (except my stubborn FI) in my family onto it and since then no one is ever catching anything!

I second the other PP’s comments of rest as well as tea with honey! Try and smile, relax, and remember you’re going to look beautiful and have a wonderful time πŸ™‚

Five days before my wedding, I was watching TV and I am anemic… I guess I was laying down too long (I hardly watch TV) and I got up & I was woozy and couldn’t keep my balance and dove head first into the carpet.  I had a VERY VISIBLE chunk of skin missing from my FOREHEAD.

I put enough Neosporin on that bitch to kill a cow.  By day 5, I was a little scabby, and enough makeup did the trick where you could not see it.

So, I second the Vitamin E.  You will be totally fine.  The most important thing is DO NOT STRESS.  I know it sounds impossible, but try not to.  The day before we left, I had a day all to MYSELF, spa, shopping, the works.  I mean, I eloped but if you can pull off some “me” time, you should try!

I manage a beauty shop – do you know anywhere you can buy Dermalogica products? their ultra-calming serum can work wonders on torn skin, or the pricier but UNBELIEVABLE Phyto Corrective Gel from Skinceuticals.  Both of these are amazing. Polysporon will also help.

I know you’re stressy and I totally would be too, but have your cry, rest and let go, it’ll be amazing!

Salt water and gargle (my grandmother swears by this I personally just take NyQuil and go into a coma until im better) and take an anti inflammatory (or get a cream). If it rains make sure you ( and your party) have a cute umbrella and rainboots! Would make for some cute wedding photos πŸ˜‰

I’m sorry to hear about the run of bad luck but just remember when those doors open and you see your finace at the end of the aisle and he sees you no matter what is going on with your lip, the weather etc his heart is going to flip flop and he will think you are the most beautiful woman in the world and at the moment nothing else will matter!

@lolot:  I had no voice the day before and morning of our wedding. Go to GNC or Rite Aid and pick up a tea called Throat Coat! Singers SWEAR by it, and for obvious reasons! Within an hour of drinking my cup my throat was all better AND I had my voice back! It’s about $6 I think? Make sure you sip on it, don’t drink it fast. I also added honey as well. Seriously, look up reviews online and then go buy it! You’ll never want to be without it in your home again.

I hope you feel better honey!
