- Wedding: December 2011
While most boys are not all at into the whole idea a wedding planning (unless maybe it is their own) My son was particulary clueless about the process. The fact that it is his mother’s wedding I think made it all the more uninteresing to him. Well any way Fiance and I were out suit shopping. Being on a buget we were thrilled when the store was having a buy one get one 1/2 off sale. I immediatly thought we can get my son a suit for the wedding! (Then he won’t show up in jeans and a Slayer T-shirt) But the thing was we got there on the last day of the sale. I called my son who was off with roomates camping. No way he could get to town in time to try on a suit. So stupidly I asked “do you know what size suit you wear?” His answer – just get me a large. That should work.” I had to explain that suits don’t come sized small medium and large. Not to mention the fact the this kid is 6 feet tall and about 160. In what universe does that make a large??? Well got the suit situation resolved thanks to a very helpful sales manager. Then as we are putting things together I asked Do you have dress shoes -no. Do you have a leather belt – no. Do you have dress socks and dress shirt – no. Well we got these things taken care of and then – Do you have a tie? To which he answered – NO but I want to do this one on my own. I want to make sure I don’t look like an old man in a suit. I want a fun tie. I’m thinking Penguins!
So my precious boy child will be showing up in a beautiful black suit, with cool new shoes and this awesome black and white strip shirt with white collar and cuffs, his grandfathers gold cuff links and a tie with Penguins on it!
Man I love that kid!!!
