Mrs. Meowerson :  my belly button popped out at 9 weeks, before I was even showing. It was very protruded throughout the whole pregnancy but popped straight back in within days of giving birth. (I actually felt it ‘pop’ in during a contraction when breastfeeding!)

I’m 31 weeks and still have an innie, haha. It’s always been an insanely deep innie… as in, even at 5’7″ and when I was 120lbs, I could get 3/4 of a Q-tip in there.

snowflake8 :  I did this, good advice! Also this is way tmi but your bellybutton darkens during pregnancy and the dark skin flaked and I enjoyed picking it out and getting my light bellybutton back at about 2 months pp lol!

Great advice! I had an innie the whole time, but it’s good to have for future reference! 😁

Mrs. Meowerson :  it’s your uterus contracting to go back to its pre-pregnancy size!

snowflake8 :  you only have contractions while breastfeeding over the first few weeks, esp. the first couple days.  The oxytocin released during breastfeeding will help to cause some contractions which help to shrink the uterus back to it’s normal size.  I had some that were extremely painful but only during the first couple days and then they lessened and eventually disappeared after a couple weeks.  You don’t have them forever.

Anyway, I never put lotion in my belly button but I never thought to.  Mine never popped out with my first.  It got shallower but never popped out.  Makes it really easy to clean out though.

snowflake8 :  I didn’t think of this either! I’m 23 weeks and my naval is stretching, not sure if it’ll be an ‘outie’ or not, but this is good advice. I need to lotion up more everywhere! I only put lotion on my belly a couple times a week. undecided It’s been too hot!
