I had the giggles! I’ve always heard of people getting moodswings when they’re pregnant, but last time (before I miscarried) I got the giggles. I’m pretty sure it was my hormones going crazy in a weird way. Literally, I was falling on the floor laughing, nobody could understand me b/c it was all giggles, and I laughed so much I wanted to puke. I laughed at anything and nothing.
About a week ago, I had the giggles. My husband looked at me and said I was probably pregnant, but I didn’t want to get my hopes up. Now I’ve taken the test and sure enough he was right!

LOL how lucky this was your main symptom. I knew I was pregnant because I got violently nauseated every day at 5:00 and couldn’t stand most smells.

@colors – Congrats! Yay, such happy news! Wishing you the best! 🙂
I don’t have anything else to add, as I haven’t been pregnant (yet) but I’m so excited for you!

Congrats! That’s hilarious.
My mom would always leave her purse behind at restaurants when she was pregnant. At least your first symptom is a good one!

Congrats! I knew I was pregnant because I had to go to the bathroom ALL the time! 🙂

@ohheavenlyday: Last time I was pregnant I had the smell issue. It’s weird for me b/c I don’t have a sense of smell normally, but all of a sudden I smelled the garbage all the time, my hubby had take it out constantly. Not looking forward to that again!
@chicagowife: I have to pee at the time normally. I couldn’t imagine it increasing any!

Ugh mine was perfume and anything like that! Neither of us could use body wash the entire time I was pregnant, just plain unscented soap. It got better after the first trimester, but for awhile everything drove me crazy- lemons, croutons… blehchchcc.

I was super tired, had no desire for wine (which I love) and wanted to drink milk (which I normally hate). Good thing when your pregnant! Congratulations!

Fiance and I were walking into the pharmacy (no joke) and sharing a cigarette <– shame on me! I took one drag and thought I was going to die. It was the WORST tasting thing ever. Kindda tasted like lemons and DIRT. I asked him if it tasted funny to him and he said no…. I told him we would have to add one more thing to the list… I dont know what made me think to buy a pregnancy test, but we did – and lo and behold……………. positive!
I lost the baby a month later – and yes i quit smoking after that nasty a$$ cigarette!

@future mrs kirsch: last time I was pregnant I couldn’t stand my favorite cheese! I ate some b/c, well I thought I loved it, then quickly put it away in the fridge. Then I realized that wasn’t good enough and put it in the trash. Then I made my husband throw it out, it was too gross anywhere in my house! This time so far it’s sweet potatoes.
@Ms. LolliPop: I’m so sorry for your loss! Congrats on quitting smoking!

@colors: I’ve never heard of the “giggles” being a sign of pregnancy. That is hilarious!! Love the cheese story, too!

@colors: Congrats on the giggles & your latest pregnancy!
For me, I WASN’T getting my usual cramps, nor were my emotions the usual rollercoaster that they are the week before my period (It comes like clockwork). That was my first clue, but Hubs wrote it off as euphoria from getting married (we’d tied the knot the week before, so the Kid is a wedding night baby for sure). Lo’ and behold, positive pregnancy test 4 days after my period was supposed to come.

The second time I got pregnant I could smell everything, it was like I had a super power. I took my son to a matinee, and this might sound gross but a baby 2 rows back from us pooed and I’m sure that I smelled it before the parents even did! I ended up having a miscarriage at 9 weeks 🙁 6months later we decided to try again, but my SO was being all macho and wanted to see if he could “do it with one shot.” so we only tried once and I was positive we weren’t expecting. On the morning of Valentines Day, I went to the grocery store to buy whipcream and strawberries for waffles, and I had to run out of the store because I thought I was going to puke. Everything smelled rotten! I could smell every single molding, decaying peice of fruit in the whole store. So I held my breath, grabbed a pregnancy test and gave it to him for V-day!

I was charting so I saw my temperature staying elevated (for the most part). Otherwise I was having PMS symptoms and even went and bought feminine products to be prepared. Then when I was about 3 days late (my cycle is like clockwork) I figured it would be a good idea to buy a pregnancy test. The second line went pink before I was even finished in the bathroom… (sorry – I know – TMI)
