When after I bought it I tried on more dresses and kept trying to alter the new dresses to be the dress I already had! Lol. That’s why you stop looking!

…when I was no longer interested in any other dresses.

When I felt like royalty in it. I seriously felt the need to put on a tiara and have a disney moment. Lol

@renwoman:  I know my answer is going to be different than all the others, since I never even tried my dress on prior to purchasing it. I knew it was my dress when I paid $400 for it and it retials for $2300.  I took a gamble and it paid off!

when I could not stop smiling and lost all interest in other dresses.  Did not even want to try any on at my second appointment for that day!

(I loved trying on dresses)

When it checked off all of my requirements: non-strapless, illusion back, lace without being a full lace dress, organza or chiffon, comfortable, flattering, and in budget.

Oh, and the look on my mom’s face when I came out in it.

My dream dress is $6,000 and there was no way that was going to happen.

Here it is…Amsale

I was totally bummed. And then I found this JCrew gown for $1100. Pretty darn similar, right?! I knew right when I saw it online. I went to a few other shops before going to JCrew but as soon as I put it on that was it.

When I tried it on no fewer than five different times in between the other lesser dresses.  (oh, this one sucks, let me see that ivory silk dress again…)

Plus I felt compelled to guard it like a crazed she-wolf when i thought other brides were eyeing it up.

When it made me feel beautiful even though I was covered in spots and looking my ugliest that day.

…when I stopped bouncing around the salon like a kid playing dress-up.

I knew I found my dress when I walked out and my Mom said, “Oh, this is your dress!”

(I found my dress online, so my ah-ha moment was based on pictures of it on the hanger)

I knew it was the dress when I saw how ethereal, simple, & flowy it was. It was nothing I knew I wanted, but when I saw it, it just scream that it was so me.
