He bought the stone several weeks ago. He’s told me he’s talked to the company that makes the ring I want. I’m pretty sure he’ll want to give me the ring before their return policy expires in case there’s something wrong with it. I’d guess that whenever he receives the ring, he’ll propose pretty much immediately. The fact that we’ve gotten to this stage has been a HUGE relief in the waiting process. I don’t feel all tangled up with uncertainty anymore.
In spite of that, I’m starting to get antsy. Where is it?! Has he gotten the ring yet? How much longer will I be waiting? What if he’s changed his mind? I never thought I’d feel this way in the home stretch, but I do!

Sending you some happy waiting vibes – you’re so near the big event, just sit tight the last wee while.
All of this will seem insignificant once your engaged (or so I’m told!)

@Mrs Eye wannabe: Thank you! I’m sure it will be.

Same boat, but I’m not too antsy. We’ve picked the ring, and he’s made two payments; it should only take three to pay it off. I know I have to wait at least two more weeks, but I still find myself wondering if he’ll try to get it sooner, if it’ll take longer to pay, and how soon he’ll propose after getting it. I guess I’m not too antsy since I have a little bit more of a timeline, but I still want it to happen! It’s so close I can almost taste it…

I know how you feel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I NEVER thought my SO would have his act together so quickly!
But 2 nights ago, we were window shopping and he told the sales lady he’d be back in 2 weeks to pay cash for the ring. He also put down a deposit. 2 weeks is march 29th. another week to set/resize? plus my birthday is april 30th…
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! The anticipation is KILLING me. but I dare not say ANYTHING to him about it at this point!
Just keep it to yourself and the hive! and post pics of that ring when you get it!!!!!

@Jezika: no, no special dates planned. We’re going an a trip in a month, but it’s New Jersey and a relative’s wedding. I’m pretty sure it won’t be then.

You’re almost there, hold on a little more =). And I think it’s better not to have special dates planned, so there’s not the extra anxiety and pressure surrounding them (in case he has something else planned). I’m in a similar boat as you, I know he has the ring and it will happen soon, but since there’s only a few days he could do it’s even harder to not get my hopes up more than I should.
Take comfort in the fact he’s taking these huge steps… and there’s no way he’s changed his mind!
