I think traditionally you walk back down the aisle together and then guests go to the reception/cocktail hour while the bridal party does pictures. I suppose if you take your pictures beforehand, you could also go straight to the reception. But you definitely leave together. If you want to greet people, set up a receiving line at the reception.

depends on the venue, in church ceremonies you would head down the aisle, outdoor venues you may wait at the end of the aisle and people come up to congratulate you 🙂 after that you will probably head off for photos 🙂

We had a civil ceremony at a beautiful garden and after the officiant declared us married, she applauded, we kissed and ambraced and turned to our family who were all beaming and applauding too Laughing. Then we went down the aisle while family poured their cone petals at us and everybody was kissing us and congratulating us. Cheerful!!! Next we had a cocktail in the garden and it was time for some family pictures. Finally we and the photographer went for a stroll around the garden taking some pic while guests were going inside the venue salon.
