mostly all music related things….death cab/postal service, kings of leon, +1 on the jacks mannequin/something corporate, mumford & sons, m83, school of seven bells…etc. etc.

ive always been a HUGE music person. so much so I have two eigth notes tattooed behind my left ear. i will definitely own up to being that person that gets annoyed when you listen to something FOREVER and then all of a sudden it pops up everywhere on mtv and on the radio.

How I Met Your Mother.  I loved that show when it was in season 1 and nobody had any clue what it was.  We saw Neil Patrick Harris on the subway one day, and I was like, “It’s Barney!” Everyone I was with was like, “Umm, do you mean Doogie??”  I was ahead of the game. 😉

The Artic Monkeys <3 lol. Also the band Fun.
I’m Italian (for real) and took pride in it before Jersey Shore came out. Than EVERYONE was Italian all of a sudden.

Unicorns and thick rimmed glasses.  Both have been taken over by hipsters.  I have gone to contacts recently, so that I can so uncool it’s cool again and then I can have my glasses back! yay!

@Jennawesbren:  Me too! I had found Jason Mraz randomly and tried to tell my BFF about him. She wasn’t a fan at first and was like, “who is this hippe sort of dude you’re trying to get me into??” She loves him now. I loved him first though :o)

@hotchildinthecity:  I’m a huge SoCo fan! I like Jack’s Mannequin too, but Something Corporate had a way different sound IMO!

For me, I liked peacock feathers before they were everywhere! Since I was a young girl, I’ve had a vase of feathers in my room and used them in other decor throughout the house. Now, when I’m incorporating them into my wedding since I’ve loved them my whole life, I hate that it’s a fad!

@Mrs. Fireworks:  EXACTLY.  We saw them on their reunion tour like two years ago and it was AMAZEBALLS.  Although I still like JM, they’ve been creeping into emo/teenage sellout territory and that makes me sad!

@Spoonie:  Me too. I’ve always been ahead of the game, especially in terms of fashion stuff, but I got bullied a lot because of it.

– Unnatural hair colors — I actually kicked this craze off at my school, since I dyed my hair hot pink for the last day of 8th grade, and that fall, so many kids had dyed hair.

– Piercings and tattoos

– The Backstreet Boys — I bought their first CD when it was first released here (1996, before they were big in Europe), from the music store in the mall. I owned the original version before it was re-released here with “Everybody.”

knitting and crocheting… I wanted to learn when I was quite young because my Nana was an awesome knitter.  (Sadly, my knitting skills still don’t compete with Nana’s… but I can crochet like mad!)

When I was like 11, I remember seeing Katherine Heigl in a movie called “Stand-Ins”, and thought, Wow, she’s gorgeous. How is she not famous? She should be. Everyone I told about her was like “Katherine who? What?” 9 years later, she gets cast in Grey’s Anatomy, and now she’s a household name.

Same with Melora Hardin. Around the same time, I was obsessed with her in The Tower of Terror Movie. Just like with Katherine Heigl, I couldn’t believe she wasn’t famous. I even wrote her a fan email, which she responded to personally because she was still relatively unknown. A few years later, she gets cast as Jan on the Office, and now everyone knows who she is.

It seems like I’m always a few years ahead with things. Like in middle school, which was roughly the late 90’s early 2000’s with me, I went on this whole 80’s kick before it was cool again to like things from the 80’s.

Oh and the Black Keys. Before it was, the Black who? Now, they are everywhere.

A lot of the old man/vintage style shoes kids are wearing these days. We were dirt ass poor growing up and those shoes were the only things we can afford. I was torn to pieces on a daily basis for my “poor” wardrobe and especially for those shoes. Now? They’re designer. Yeah. Those people can go screw themselves.

Plaid.  Seriously was my signature thing.

Daniel Tosh.  FI introduced me to him after he had known about him for a few years.
