@bestbuddies:  No way! I don’t try to spread my healthy eating habits at all. People are SO offended by it. People often cringe and ask, “What’s that?!” Then I reply, “Split peas and broccoli” or whatever I’m eating. Then people will say it looks like baby crap or ask what I DO eat and say they could never, EVER eat how I eat and I don’t know what I’m missing etc. It’s like they’re threatened by how I eat, so I never bring it up to people in real life and I even try to eat away from people because I have gotten so many rude comments about my food. I have had people start arguments with me over veganism, Someone even said to me, “wWhat about plants?! They have feelings too!” and my least favorite quip, “But animals are soo tasty!” Good for you! I don’t understand why so many people like to start crap with vegans, and with people who eat whole foods. You wouldn’t think that’d be a point of contention with people. Anyway, I make SO’s food so I do make sure he eats healthily. I make a lot of his food myself and he doesn’t eat much packaged, crap food.

Congratulations!!  I have been realizing more and more that diet is more important than how I’m exercising, although I still do like yoga (and need to get back into a habit of doing it once work gets less insane).  Thanks for sharing how you reached your awesome milestone!!

Congratulations!

Did you hit any plateaus? If so, how did you overcome them? πŸ™‚

@bestbuddies:  I eat a lot of fat. I eat lots of nuts, avocado, coconut (I sprinkle natural, unsweetened, flaked coconut over peeled, sliced oranges and banana slices with slivered almonds. so good!), etc. I am 5′ 1″, 105 lbs, yet people find it necessary to tell me I eat too much fat and I’m gonna get fat. I’ve eaten like this for the past two years. If I mention that, they tell me “It’ll catch up to you.” There is a huge difference between animal fat and plant-derived fat. Plus, fat doesn’t make you fat. Eating calories that aren’t contributing to your health (potato chips, ice cream, pizza, etc) is what makes you fat.

As for being vegan, I think anyone who thinks they may want to be vegan should try it. I thought about it for a couple years before I went for it, but I never tried it because I was so obsessed with cheese and ice cream. I thought I’d feel deprived. I love being vegan. It feels very natural to me and I would never go back. Even if someone isn’t willing to become vegan, I think we should all seriously limit all the animal products we eat for our health, the environment and for the animals.

Congratulations! I feel that I could definitely cut out meat… but gluten and dairy and I are all just amazing friends, I don’t know if we could break up πŸ™
