After being engaged for 2 years, my husband and I were married on October 13th. On Friday night on our way to Portland we stopped at a Safeway to use the bathroom. I took my rings off to wash my hands (which is something I never do). My fingers fluctuate in size depending on my body temperature and It was really cold on Friday so I was worried that if I left them on my hand they would have fallen off and gone down the drain. I set them on top of the paper towel holder and the only one that made it back on my hand was my wedding band. I don’t know why, I guess I’m just not used to wearing two rings yet. Anyway, by the time I realized this we were 2 hours south of this particular Safeway. I called and so far no one had turned anything in. I had them check the bathroom, I spoke with the manager, everything I could think of. I’ve been calling everyday but no luck. I looked everywhere in the car and in my purse just in case. My husband is a huge sweetheart and wasn’t upset. He just feels sad for me. Has anyone else lost their engagement ring? =(

I’m so so sorry..consider calling (hate saying this…) pawn shops near that Safeway, because if someone wasn’t honest enough to turn it in, they probably sold it 🙁 post ads on Craigslist in the area.. Maybe even call the local police dept ?

I know exactly how you feel..I lost mine two weekends ago 🙁 I feel like the worst fiance ever. 🙁 I hope you find it!!!

I’m so sorry I can only imagine! I thought I had lost mine once and went into full panick mode but then thankfully found it before Fiance had a heart attack! I would definitely say to do what the other person said and call the local pawn shops where you lost it! Good luck!!!

I lost my engagement ring in a LAKE. We went swimming with some friends and I didn’t take mine off cause I didn’t wanna take it off and leave it in my bag. Needless to say after some rough playing with the guys it slipped off my finger and before anyone could grab it, it was gone 🙁
I just recently got my new ring. It’ll be ok! My Fiance wasn’t mad he was just upset cause I was upset and the insurence he got on it didn’t cover loss.

Oh no! 🙁 That’s such an awful feeling, especially since you said you rarely take them off to wash your hands. Anytime I have to take mine off in public I put it in between my lips (like purse my lips over it) because I am so the person to forget my head if it wasn’t attached. I know that wont help you now but maybe an idea for the future?

Thank you everyone for the kind words. It helps to hear all of your sympathies. =)
@ChuckNorris, I’ve been checking Craigslist and I think calling pawn shops is a great idea too! Thank you!
Unfortunately, the ring wasn’t insured. Lesson learned. I think I’m just going to have to get over it and press on. The good news is that I didn’t lose my husband. That’s all that really matters anyway right?! =) We’ve started looking at new rings already.
To you other girls who lost your rings, you’re not the worst fiance’s ever, you’re human beings and these things happen.
Thank you all again! <3
