I was just watching him! He’s my favorite show on DIY network. Of course it helps that he reminds me of almost every guy in my family. I love how he goes the extra mile on everything too! Like when he helped the elderly lady who got scr*wed on her bathroom two or three times and he fixed her kitchen too so she wouldn’t burn herself on the oven anymore.

This post is funny because Friday was the first time I saw the show and I actually liked it. I may have to watch a few more epis.

Oh my goodness. I watched the episode last night and I am just always so impressed. But luckily for me, Fiance still watches it with me, at least for now. 🙂

I love him and his show! I wish he could come build a house for us, but he works in Canada and we live in the US. There are so many “experts” on TLC or HGTV or DIY Network and he is one of the only ones who actually comes across as really knowing his stuff. Seriously, I would hire him if I could.

I love Mike 🙂

My old apartment is on an old episode of his show!!! He didn’t fix our building, but he fixed the one beside ours…their deck had collapsed with a bunch of people on it. But everytime they showed a picture of the house, it showed our buliding right beside it!

Holmes stresses me out so much because I don’t know if the contractors we hire are any good! I mean they may have positive reviews or good references.. but what do THOSE people know. THEY COULD BE LIVING IN A HOME WITH MooooOOOooold.

I wish you could find out all the bad contractors on his website so I know not to hire them.  Hopefully by watching obsessively I’m learning something too, but mostly it goes in one ear and comes out the other as a plaintive “MOOOoooOOOLLDDD”.

Ahhh Mr Holmes. I hate to say it but I think Canadians are a bit sick of him, LOL! He’s really educational, I agree. If I could give one criticism, it’s that he rips out EVERYTHING including the good stuff because he just figures he’s there anyways so he might as well do it over. The show doesn’t pay for the renos, the homeowner does, so the homeowner gets to pay for the original work (good and bad), the demo of ripping out all the good stuff, and then for someone to do work over again. That’s just annoying to me. But if my house were practically falling down and no one was able to fix it, I guess I would tell him to just gut it all and start over too.

The show doesn’t pay for renovations? I did NOT know that. No wonder the houses always seem on the more ritzy side.

We are gearing up to buy our first home next year, and I have been obsessed with DIY shows lately, even more so than wedding stuff!

I love this show. My Fiance and I watch and afterwards are like, “We should get a house, let our friends do a crappy job of renovating it and get him to come in and redo it.”

LOVE HIM! Makes me scared for our house though… It would probably be a good fit for the show! haha.
