So our cake was never huge on my priority list. But then we stumbled upon an Etsy seller, and decided place an order. FI hasn’t been overly into the planning process, but he’s actually the one who found this seller (so I like that this was his doing). And when I sent him the proofs (editted to take “me” out so he wouldn’t see my “dress,” he said “that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever seen!” 🙂 🙂 And the seller was really great to work with.
I love how she did my “hair.” I actually hope to wear my hair down, but I like how the up styles look better on the topper, and if it’s hot or humid, I’ll be wearing my hair up. I’m not overly concerned with matching the topper in every respect.
She did such a great job on our personal details. Like doing the base like we’re at the park (we were engaged in Central Park, and spend a lot of time there). She incorporated my great grandmother’s earrings, and the locket in my bouquet that will hold a photo of my deceased father. For the personalized “stuff” at our feet, she did a Red Sox had and drumsticks for Fiance. She also did a small stack of books (she even titled them cookbook and law to further reflect our interests), and topped it with a marathon medal (I’ve run 8, he’s run 3). She made me a pair of tap shoes, and of course included our dog and his red bow tie 🙂 We’ll have to figure out a way to display them so you can see everything (e.g. I’ll have it so you can see the taps on the shoes), but so it won’t look too cluttered. But I’m so looking forward to having this on my cake, and as a special keepsake for many years to come!
