She just texted me to ask if it was okay if she wore a black dress because she was worried about making a “wedding mistake.” A black dress wouldn’t bother me one bit even if she hadn’t asked, I just love that she DID ask. So sweet. Plus, my mom’s dress is silver so they are going to compliment eachother very well!
So lucky with my FILs!!

You are very lucky. I have a shitty Mother-In-Law, but I will give her credit where credit is due since she didn’t become shitty until mostly after the wedding: she also bought a black dress (well, black skirt and top with some silver in it) and asked me if it was ok to wear black.

I told the moms that they knew how to dress themselves and whatever they wore would be fine. My mom is a bit of a fashionista and his mom has never worn something I thought was wrong. His mom got so excited to show me the dress she wanted to order the last time I was over there. She wanted my approval but I was like “Looks awesome. whatever you want lol” I think I’m throwing them off lol.

lol. Yeah, I haven’t told them anything about what to wear because I trust their judgment, but she sends me photos every now and then of dresses she’s considering. I’ve like them all, just not sure when she decided to get a black one. lol I guess I’ve been more of a go-between between her and my mom because Future Mother-In-Law doesn’t want to clash with her.

it’s so nice to hear someone talk about how much they love their MIL! My Mother-In-Law is awesome! She has offered so much for our wedding. She has been a huge part in making sure I have the time of my life on our wedding day and with the honeymoon.
Glad to know you are as lucky as I am! 🙂
