My Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law bought us a washer and dryer! Score! They also have been extremely supportive and nice to me ever since the wedding πŸ™‚

We don’t talk to hubs mother, but my Mother-In-Law (FIL’s FI) is amazingly awesome. I can talk to her about anything, and I love spending time with her, really, all of hubs family. We all get along great, and the same goes for him and my family. After seeing some of the stuff people go through on here, I am SO THANKFUL for our families!

I love my soon to be inlaws!! My Future Mother-In-Law is one of the sweetest most giving people I know!! They helped us pay for our vacation in March to Mexico, and thats when my Fiance proposed! They also are helping us out with the new house we are building next door! I am happy that we have such a good relationship πŸ™‚

I love mine! She’s a sweetheart! My Fiance swears that she’s mean as heck. But I’m telling you… I don’t think there’s a mean bone in her body. He’s just mad ’cause she used to punish him for being such a bad %$# kid. LOL! πŸ˜‰ He turned out pretty damn good, so I think that says a lot about her.

She’s always baking things for us and dropping them off just because. And she brags constantly about how cute we are as a couple. Plus she was a shoulder to cry on on a few occasions when life threw us a curve ball.

@red_rose: My Future Mother-In-Law has 2 boys and she loves having a girl around I think.  I love her for so many reasons… My family recently moved across the country (from MT to TX) and she makes sure I know I still have family close by.  Fiance is the sweetest man I know and always treats me and his mom with the utmost respect but she still tells him that I am the number one woman in his life and that he should always side with me if it is between me and his mom/family.  Also, Fiance has a job which provides him a company car so he gave the car his parents bought him when he was 16 back to them.  They sold the car and decided to give Fiance about 40% of the sale price since it was “his car” even though they were the ones that bought it 8 years ago!  They are just such kind people…so glad I am marrying into a big happy fun welcoming family!

Oh I’m so glad somebody did this! I get so sad reading about all the awful in-laws. I want to shout it from the rooftops, “I LOVE MY IN-LAWS!” (I usually just shout it on facebook instead:P) The only problem we have with them is that they want to help too much! I have to occasionally tell them “You know, I think my parents would like to help with that.” They are just so loving about the way they want to help us, it’s not one of those situations where they are making it about them. Future Mother-In-Law treats me like a daughter. She likes taking me shopping and doing diy projects with me. They talk about how much they love me to all their family and friends. The best part is that when they met my parents everyone instantly clicked! We get together a lot now, my family and his family, and it’s like a huge happy family! I’m getting teary right now thinking about how lucky I am.

I love my Mother-In-Law but I don’t like her.  LOL. It’s pretty awful.

However, I really like his stepmom.

my Mother-In-Law, ok, actually ALL of my in-laws are AMAZING. They’re whole family is very old-fashioned and austere. They dont’ waste money and they live very simple lives, but that’s what I admire most about them. Family is so important that they don’t let anything else get in their way. They literally live for their children and will give their sons anything they need or want – but the boys are so austere as well that they never ask for anything – the parents just give it so generously and willingly.

For example, when DH’s older brother wanted to start his own contracting business, their parents gave a large sum of money to help him get started. They gave us money for a downpayment on our first home together (I’m in awe of their generosity, truly) and continued to give us little bits of money throughout the wedding process, even when we told them to stop. It’s not like they have it pouring out of their ears or something. Like I said, they live a very austere lifestyle in a small country home. They just do a really good job of saving (we’re convinced there’s jars of money burried around the property). We were all shocked 2 years ago when his father turned to us and said, “let’s go to Disney this summer!”

They are the perfect model of a functioning family, and I really hope that we turn out to be even a fraction of the family that they are.

my Future Mother-In-Law is so awesome! she really is the best woman I could ever ask to be a second mother to me. We and our families are so happy because we really feel like this is the joining of our two families. They have been like family since the beginning. Our families get together for all the holidays – which is great so that we don’t have to choose between the two for where to celebrate. even when my Fiance and I moved arcoss the country(before being engaged) our parents would still get together for dinners, without us! I feel so lucky to be marrying such a wonderful man, but also joining his family. there is so much love around with everyone it is almost too much! lol, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world!

my Future Mother-In-Law also has two boys just like yours @STBSchmidt and really enjoys having a girl around to do some girly things with and spoil with girl things. when it is my birthday she always likes to do it up with pink and flowers(which I love so bonus).

My Future Mother-In-Law is the best.  She’s so sweet and loving, gives great hugs and always leaves hilarious comments on facebook lol.  His whole family is great and I feel so lucky to be a part of that.  What a huge bonus!
