… Since my dress will only show a piece of it, should I try to cover it up? Or just photoshop it out in the pictures? For reference, here is my entire tattoo (It’s a Japanese style dragon I had done while I was living in Japan)
This was just after I had it done, and please excuse my attempt to cover up my butt crack, haha.
And this is how much shows in my dress – this is the too-small sample, so a tiny bit might more might show once it sits lower on me:
What would you do? I’m leaning towards just photoshopping it out so I don’t have to worry about cover up smearing all over my dress.

Leave it out! I kind of like it. I can’t really explain why exactly, it’s just a tidbit of yourself peeking out!

I would personally cover it up because if I was a guest I would be wondering what your tattoo was and if I could only see a peep that would frustrate me, lol.

leave it! its a part of you! it looks very…mysterious peeking out!

I’d leave it. The tattoo is a part of you.

@BP2Be: I say leave it, it’s cool! Don’t risk the makeup, not worth it! Yay for Japanese dragons!

Leave it! You love it, it’s on you – let people wonder….

I would cover it.
Sephora sells makeup specifically for covering tattoos by Kat Von D.
By The Way, the back of your dress is gorgeous!!! and I love the bracelet you have on.

I wonder about the same thing. The same amount peeks out in the same place on my gown. Although I love mine the concern of conservative family wondering about my mystery tattoo kind of worries me. I know we shouldn’t worry what others think because tattoos are part of who you are., But If you feel like putting makeup over it would help you not worry maybe just for the big day, that’s fine. 🙂 sorry I’m not a lot of help…haha.

I would try to cover it up, mainly because so little of it shows.

If more showed I would say leave it out but If you are planning on having it photoshopped out in pictures I would just cover it in real life it would make a lot less work for your photographer and a lot less chance for them to make a weird looking error in the middle of your back.

I have a tattoo on my upper back that I don’t particularly love, or hate; I also have a tattoo on my left forearm that I loooooove. At first I had every intention of covering both since my initial thought was they looked weird when I had my dress on.
Since then, I’ce decided to display them proudly since as PP’s have said, they are apart of me (of you, of whoever is wearin’ them).
I can understand you wanting to cover them, so if it bothers you, then do it 🙂 Lots of good tattoo covering makeup products out there. But don’t rule out letting it show ’cause it’s awesome!

I would cover it up, as PP have mentioned it’s “just the tip” and doesn’t display the entire beauty of the tat. I feel it’s a sort of all or nothing thing, because just showing a very small piece looks odd.

oh id leave it! it looks fine and its you!!

Thanks for all the feedback! Wow, opinions are really split right down the middle – I’m torn! Maybe I will test some products at Sephora and see how well it stays on and covers.
It’s tough because when I got the tattoo done, my loving Mom said “It is very beautiful… I hope it doesn’t show in your wedding dress…” And this was before I was even in a relationship with anyone. So even though she didn’t mention it when I was trying dresses on, I know she would rather it not show. I even made sure to let the artist know (in my very broken Japanese) that I wanted it below my bra strap. I never took into consideration that I might fall in love with a dress that had a lower back.
I guess I just wish either none of it showed, or more of it showed so you can tell what it is… if that makes any sense. Decisions decisions!
