Do you love it? WEAR IT. It does not look matronly or nightgown-ish to me.

I think it’s lovely. I agree with the suggestion to add a shrug.

I think it’s beautiful ! The picture is a bit dark but obviously it’ll sparkle lots in better lighting. Once you get it tailored it’ll be perfect ! I agree with pp about adding a fur shrug for a winter wonderland outdoor pic

I think it’s a beautiful dress, if you love it.. GO FOR IT!

If I were going to wear that, I would def pair with a faux fur shrug, since it seems like you’re going with a romantic winter vibe, and that would definately look amazing, then at the reception you could remove it.

I love it!  I do think you need some alterations, but overall, I love the look when you describe your reception venue.

I agree with others that it is very beautiful. But I do think it needs some tailoring (which will help it be less lingerie-like) and, of course, hair and makeup and accessories will add to the bridal effect that I think others you know may not see right now. With a winter backdrop, I can see this being very Old Hollywood with the right touches.

The stage you set up for this dress Sounds perfect for it! This is a sophisticated dress that will sparkle in the low light of your evening wedding in that small room decorated for the holiday. You are small framed and this dress suits you well, it doesn’t swallow you up and make a big bold statement in a room is not going to be a giant ball room.

I think it’s perfect!

khuddles :  pretty dress but it definitely needs alterations around the chest, waist and hip area. I think the wrap that you showed a picture of looks great! It should look beautiful once it’s all done, people may just lack the imagination to see your vision at the moment.

Stunning!!!! So classic.  And it would go with how your wedding sounds.  Make it the dress and watch everyone eat their words when you glow in it on your special day!!

khuddles :  I would describe the vibe of your dress as delicate and glamorous. I’m sorry, but I don’t see the shawl you posted or a shrug as working that well with your dress. I would suggest a chiffon cape for the ceremony, and some additional details that would contribute sparkle, without being overwhelming: headband, a cuff bracelet, stud earrings.

All that matters is how YOU feel. A lot of people didn’t love my dress when I bought it, but when the look was put together it was perfect. I think shortening the straps and how you style your hair, jewelry etc will prevent the lingerie vibe. But I think it is stunning!!!

I love it! Get it altered a bit to fit better and go with a shrug/wrap for warmth and a little more glamour. Don’t listen to people who aren’t wearing it!
