I have a .71 diamond solitaire with a yellow gold band. It tapers towards my diamond. I have a 4.5-4.75 finger.

Aww, I love three-stone rings like that! There’s something romantic about the past-present-future feel of them. What didn’t he like about it?

Here is my yellow gold ring… but it is a padparadsha, not a diamond. It’s in a similar setting to pianzo_a’s. Six-prong settings are very elegant!

My moissanite three stone. 1ct total weight. .5 centre and two .25 accent stones. Why can’t you get your ring? Moissaniteco have a ring exactly like that for less than four hundred dollars I believe. Mine is from the UK and it was less than £300 so amazing price and the ring is stunning. What’s up your FI’s ass? Its not his ring!

I think it is beautiful! I love yellow gold. It  is timeless and natural! Anyway it is coming back into fashion if that is his concern. But what it boils down to is this is your ring and you have to wear it and look at it and love it so you should get what you like not what someone else likes.

indycolts3990:  the reason Darling Husband wanted me to have a three stone ring is because he knows I love bling and a bit of interest so a solitaire wouldn’t do but pave would worry me and channel set isn’t really my thing because I feel like it clashes with different shapes. So three stone made the most sense. Classic, understated but still eye catching and fun

majorairhead:  yup! It came today! Darling Husband helped me take pictures! He is so sweet. He was picking out places in our garden my ring would look cool on. The log was his idea and he took the pictures with both our rings.

indycolts3990:  Thanks for the compliment about my nails! It was a rare professionally-done mani.

What style does he like? I always envisioned my ring being very modern, like a bezel-set princess-cut diamond in platinum.

In the end, I’m glad he insisted on going classic, though I was annoyed when he told me that I had bad taste in jewelry, haha! Taste is subjective; there is no good and bad about it!
