I found a beautiful dress yesterday and put a down payment on it. When I got home, my fiance asked about the dresses I tried on. During the conversation, I asked him what type of dresses he liked and didn’t like. He said, “I don’t like ruffles and asymmetrical dresses.” HE PRETTY MUCH JUST DESCRIBED MY DRESS!!!!!! (PS. He doesn’t know anything about the one I picked out.)
Here is a picture of me in the dress:
Now I am regretting getting it, I am regretting not asking him what his thoughts were before I went shopping, I am also regretting that I rushed into purchasing it. (I only went to 2 places and tried on about 12 dresses.)
I don’t know what to do.

It doesn’t matter what he says now, once he sees you in it walking towards him, it’ll be the best dress he’s ever seen!

Don’t worry about what he thinks he does or doesn’t like. Get what YOU like and you will be so radiant and beautiful that he won’t have a second to think about the dress, only about YOU and how amazing you look. He will take in the whole package.

@X0JLYNN03: That’s true. Besides, what does he know about wedding dresses?! Haha.

@mrsSonthebeach: I did like it yesterday but today I am all over other websites looking at other dresses, thinking “I should have gotten this one.” I hate this feeling.

@Bride030313: STOP LOOKING AT DRESSES!
There is a reason you picked that one. Every wedding dress is lovely, but YOUR wedding dress makes you feel something special. And that is why you selected it.
He is a guy, he might say he doesnt like that but when he sees it on you he wont even realize what he said. Honestly. Ignore him.
If you love the dress, thats all that matters.

My husband (then fiance) told me he hated mermaids and loved ball gowns. I wore a mermaid… I was a little nervous about it but he thought my dress was perfect when he saw it for the first time.

Stick with your dress. I’d be more concerned about the fact that my Fiance even knew what an “asymmetrical ruffled dress” was.

@GroovyHippieChick: HAHAHAHAHA that was awesome.

@Bride030313: You have to stop looking at dresses. Of course you will have dress regret if you continue to dress shop, online or not. Especially when you are only getting to see the dresses online on models, that dress may be beautiful on them but may just not suit you, so just stop.
I asked my Fiance what he liked and didn’t like before I bought my dress, he didn’t like lace, or pickups or anything really poufy, but he loved strapless dresses and beading. My dress is a ballgown by oleg cassini from db, I love it, and while I think Fiance will love the bodice, the skirt is pretty poufy, ultimately I know all that matters will be me walking down that aisle.

mine told me no bling, i got bling. when i showed him pics of me in plain dresses withou bling he said it was boring, when i showed him pics of me in dresses with bling he liked them. men are dumb – you look gorgeous, if that is the dress you love for your wedding stay with it – he will love you in it!

I agree with all the PPs. Your dress looks lovely! And, your Fiance will love the dress because you’ll be happy and glowing in it.

Your Fiance is spouting out thoughts but in reality he doesn’t have a clue what it would look like on YOU!
My Darling Husband indicated a strong dislike for a dress similar to the one I wore while he was next to me watching a SYTTD episode. I was absolutely crushed! On the day of he loved, LOVED, my dress and couldn’t get over the details and bling (the very thing he said he didn’t like on the other dress). He kept touching it and examining it, he was truly in awe. Moral of the story….you dress is beautiful and boys are silly.
