We got all our RSVPs back, so the seating is done! Tables are for 3 and 4, but the space is intimate and encourages mingling, so when people aren’t actively shoving food in their faces, they’ll probably be moving around. I wasn’t even going to tell people where to sit but I’ve been asked to, so fine.
I’m naming the tables after fictional spacecraft:
FH and I will have a sweetheart table called The Heart of Gold (hitchhiker’s guide)
My parents and uncle will sit at The Satellite of Love (Mystery Science Theater 3000)
His parents will sit at The Enterprise (they’re big trekkies)
We also have:
Which names do you know? I’m hoping to spark some discussion over dinner and tried to match up spacecraft to tables where at least one person might be likely to know it. I believe I was successful in all but one case. 🙂

@Bebealways: honestly the only names I would recognize are serenity and the enterprise and that’s thanks to Fiance making me watch the movies ;P I think your idea is awesome and so personal, but there might be people who don’t get it without an explanation.

I love that! I recognise most of those, but I’m the only sci fi geek in either family, so sadly I’ll never be able to dothat as a theme!

The only one I recognize is Enterprise. If I saw that list I would probably have no idea what the theme was.

I only recognize a few, but I’m into different fandoms. This is a really cute idea!

Cool idea!! Apart from the first 3, I recognize the Tardis, Serenity, Outlaw Star, Millenium Falcon, and Planet Express! I also know Dai-Gurren, but not because I watched the show, only because I recognize the name. …So not a whole lot LoL.

I think it’s definitely a cool idea. I think using something different for tables is a great way to show something about you and be unique. We are using FIs photos as names. I unfortunately don’t recognize any 🙁

The Heart of Gold
The Satellite of Love
I have bolded the ones that I know… Makes me feel even more GEEKY than I was before (but that’s not a bad thigng!!)
I was surprised to not see the Nebuchadnezzar!!

I love this idea!
However I want the record to show I thought you made the seating chart for your spacecraft, not that your seating was sci-fi spaceship themed. What does that say about me?
Also, excellent choice of ships. The only one I didn’t immediately recognize was Fhloston Paradise.

This is awesome!! Personal touches are the best part of a wedding (aside from the actual marriage, of course…), and you nailed it here. Honestly, I probably only know 2 or 3 from the list, but I would appreciate it nonetheless.

@Bebealways: I know the Enterprise, TARDIS, Serenity, Dai-Gurren, and Millennium Falcon.
ps this theme is pretty awesome, love it!

CAN I PLEASE sit at the TARDIS table?!! 😀
Post # 14
@Bebealways: I know too many of them!! I had to look up just a few. I feel like I should know Dai-Gurren but it is just not one of the animes I’ve watched.
@MrsPaperFlowers: Ah! The Nebuchadnezzar would have been so awesome! Or the Basilica: Necropolis from the Chronicles of Riddick. I could come up with so many!!

I could ID The Millenium Falcon, TARDIS, the Heart of Gold, the Enterprise, Planet Express and Serenity.
Galactica might be a good one to add since it would cover two different generations.
