I think your cake and champagne dress reveal day sounds lovely!

That’s amazing that you made your own dress, and that it only took you 40 hours – well done! Glad you’re happy with how it turned out.

I don’t understand what your sister’s problem was. Even when you buy a dress, someone somewhere has had to sew it right? Why shouldn’t that person be you if you have the skills?

Great job!

Making my own was REALLY high on my list.  But I asked a very dear friend of mine who is a pro to help instead.   Never the less- it’s YOUR EFFING DRESS!!!

Tell your sister to stuff it- ultimately they usually are just excited and want to be a part and don’t know how to help.   I told my mom I wasn’t going to buy one- and she started sending me links to dresses- it was weird.   But I’m flying her out to help me go fabric shopping to include her in the process.

I love the big reveal day with champagne and cookies and girl friends. that sounds awesome.  Congrats to you- don’t freak out- yo’ve done what few sewers and crafters every have- startred early and finished early!!! LOL

missscalliwag:  That. Dress. Is. Amazing!

I think the flowers are good the way they are; I think the sash looks really bulky though. The neckline would make me hella nervous but you’re rocking it!

That’s amazing! You look great! I second the part about shortening the sash – everything else is perfect!
