Well Bees, I saw an cake topper on pinterest, and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. I checked into the shop, and honestly, couldn’t bring myself to spend $210 on a cake topper. So I went about re-creating the cake topper the best I could. Let me know how I did!
Here’s the original photo (from Style Me Pretty):
And here is my version:
I know his hand is a little odd, but did I get close enough? Also, I should note, that I created the topper with our actual outfits – that’s a recreation of my dress, and his vest and pants, so I wasn’t going for an exact replica of the other toppers outfits.

@carnivaltheme: Thank you! I started with a little terra cotta pot bottom, added the moss. Then I took little doll parts, and created the bodies, fashioned my dress out of tulle and a strip of ribbon, and cut his vest and suit out of felt. I joked that “menswear really is harder, and I don’t have a chance on project runway”. Haha. It took a few attempts, but if you go for it, just jump right in!
@Mrs. Parasol: Thank you! I hope so!
@julies1949: Thank you! I’m thrilled with them!

OMG! They are soooo cute!! Yeah his hand does look a little odd. Maybe you should do it skin color like your arms, so you can distinguish it from his sleeve.

I love them! I would do his hand skin color if possible. And if you’re really ambitious you could make him a boutineer.
