Holy crap. Yep, you’re pretty much a superhero in my books for putting up with all that.

You could always just say NO, and kick her out. People like that should not be allowed around your children. I’m actually surprised she wasn’t admitted to the psych ward herself after the way she acted at the hospital

@MrsFuzzyFace:  At least you kept your girl away!!!  I just hope that now you will be much more cautious in helping them out in the future. People with that kind of entitlement attitude get a big fat NO to pretty much anything with me, I just hate that kind of attitute

Good grief, you really did. DH’s mom is this person – though she’s never peed on our couch, but so far she doesn’t know where we actually live. She randomly starts crying in the middle of dinners that we awkwardly attend out of obligation, she talks about conspiracy theories and runs away when we look at her sideways, she gets emotional over the craziest shit but she won’t go back to rehab – she was there after her lovely stint in the big house and claims it “worked.” Ha.

I just…can’t. The fact that you guys bothered to deal with her is impressive! I hope DH’s mom NEVER finds out our address. We always vaguely respond to her desires to see our house with, “yeah, when it’s finished/we have a fence/we get a grill.” <– It is finished….and we have a grill. No fence yet though.

I agree. You are a superhero! And way more compassionate than I am.

Why did you let her stay with you? I wouldn’t have let her stay with me, and I don’t even have kids! I just don’t like to subject myself to that kind of lunacy.

Omg!!!  I totally empathize.  Everything you wrote sounds like regular, everyday stories from my family.  I am so glad they are gone from your house!  I probably wouldn’t let them stay there again, if I were you!

Holy crap. You are an amazing person for putting up with her! I would have never even agreed to pick her up in the first place. Bravo!

Oh yes you deserve a vacation…. next time she calls I would ignore it completely. She is a TOTAL MENTAL CASE and does not respect you or your home. it is not your job to do all of that. You are suppose to be friendly, not her friend.

All of that is crazy, gas money , miles on your car, peeing everywhere, your cleaning, extra usuage of your utilities, putting someone like that around your child, you cell phone bill (which was a complete invasion of privacy… clearly I wouldn’t have answered anymore calls from her people— cut the phone off) that was rude, she OVER STEP Her Boundaries multiple times… you are a jewel to your husband and his family. Congrats you passed that test!

Ugh.  You weren’t kidding when you mentioned in previous posts how unstable that portion of your husband’s family is.  Yikes, I’d talk to your husband about having him talk to them about not staying in your home.
